Canton specific. We don't have them in Aargau for instance. I've seen them mentioned for Bern and Zurich - not aware of any other canton which has them.
I don't think the letters for the groups are canton specific. Some cantons are using them, other do not, but the meaning of the letter seems to be common everywhere, e.g. M is general population 50+ etc. So if you see that M and N are opened in your canton it means any adult can make an appointment.

Not an easy process to get an appointment.
Must say it's been the opposite in VD / GE .. I'm getting too many appointments now..

When the 40+ group opened up I registered and dates were out in June. So I registered with a few (as directed online) and put myself on waiting lists.

Since then I got quite a few offers of better dates.. I'm going this morning now for my first one..

SG has no letter system afaik but vaccinates by decreasing age. See link for approximate waiting times. Not sure how they handle risk groups, but suspect you have to enter any such info when registering and they will take into account.

https://wir-impfen.ch/wartezeiten
Confirmed. They've been doing it by an age (mainly) and risk factor combination but no formal letter system. From 15th May the jab will be available to all and (for the immunisation centres) given on a first come first served basis.

I was at my doctors for a regular blood stealing escapade (got some on the fourth stick, a new record).
I asked about asthma and the doc said it's barely serious enough, but if I really want the Vaccine, they'll provide a letter saying I have a chronic condition and list the BAG risk group.
I'm now wondering if skipping the queue is morally deplorable, or should I just go for it and not look back.
Why is it morally deplorable if you have a chronic condition? Barely serious enough but serious enough to be called asthma.

Go get it.

Do you know, if you press "Change appointments" are the previously booked appointments deleted immediately or they are saved until you confirm the new ones?

Woop woop, first dose end of May and second end of June. I will be ready for Summer, exactly as I predicted.

If you don't save or confirm any changes then nothing is deleted.

Aargau is continuing its vow of silence. Being overtaken by Zurich!
The canton of Aargau gives appointments for all those 16 and over who are willing to be vaccinated
The cantonal vaccination campaign is progressing. From now on, all people in Aargau who want to be vaccinated will receive vaccination appointments - even those who do not belong to one of the prioritized target groups. Those over 65 who are willing to vaccinate and those with pre-existing conditions at high risk will continue to be preferred, as will healthcare workers. All other people will be treated equally from now on. Those who registered early will be given an appointment first.

The vaccination is now possible for all Aargau residents. So healthy people between the ages of 16 and 64 receive their first vaccination appointments. However, it will take several weeks for all registered people to receive appointments. There are currently almost 110,000 people on the waiting list. They should all have their appointments by June 2021 and their vaccinations by July 2021. Whoever registered first will also receive an appointment first. A gradation according to age is not provided. Every Aargau resident who wants to be vaccinated not only protects himself but also everyone else with a vaccination. Priorities are given to people over 65 years of age, people with previous illnesses with the highest risk (with a certificate) and employees in the health and social medicine sectors. All other prioritizations - e.g. for relatives of particularly vulnerable people - are canceled. The opening of target group 5 is indicated, as the waiting lists with prioritized people are shrinking in some vaccination centers. Appointments are made after the registration date.

--------

Still no text for me (registered first day, 17th January), but looks like it should be finally coming

Try the main impfung centres at the top first then try every other from top to bottom.

You are late registering vs the many hundreds of thousands of people who also did from early today and that is why the slots are almost all gone.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

Got my dates in the morning: 1st in early June, 2nd in early July.

Have to say, though, that the vacme.ch website is a mess:
  • amount of "unexpected error" messages during the process is at best annoying
  • codes for login come with a random delay
  • the systems doesn't show the availability in a table, but offers to scroll a list of venues first, next offers to pick the first shot date (if available - couldn't they simply grey out busy venues to begin with?), next offers to pick up the second date (again, why even offer to pick up first two pieces, if the completion is unachievable?). And then you are playing a game of JS Roulette, because the dates/times can be already booked by someone else. Whoever designed that shall go and learn some basics of UI/UX.
  • I got no notification, that the group N registration were open. Some of my peers got it. Ehm?..

Alert via AlertSwiss came at 9:28 when the servers were overloaded for one hour, appointments in May were long gone and people were fighting for the appointments in the middle of June.
