Re: When can we take covid vaccine

It is so frustrating, there are appointments available as early as next week but it wont let you book them unless you have booked a second test.

Very frustrating!

I expect they may add more to the system for this month and early June soon?

That's why those appointments are still showing as available, there is no 4 week follow-up free, or they would obviously have all been taken by now.

Same issue here.
The booking system is quite distressing.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

It doesnt make sense though that on May 18th for example you could book the whole day with a pharmacy and yet 4 weeks later zero appointments, even a couple of days after

Shouldnt they be allowing people get their first shot and then come back and book appointment for their 2nd shot at a later date if thats the case

But then its not actually free - it's not an option as a first appointment.

It's poorly implemented.

Considering how many tens of thousands of people used that site today within a very short period I would say that, quirks aside, it handled it pretty well. Everyone I know managed to get a slot.

I was on it since 1pm and couldnt get any appointment

Ideally they should have one appointment which covers 1st and 2nd shot

Hopefully more will come on stream shortly

Meanwhile in other cantons, many elderly or more vulnerable people still haven't had a single vaccine.

Vaccine administration on a cantonal level rather than at a federal level does seem to be one of the most idiotic things to come out of this pandemic.

That's great everyone you know has gotten one, and I am sure I will too at some stage. Today hundreds of thousands using a service or app isn't such a big deal and is easily achieved (on cloud providers for example). The implementation logic to remove appointment 1 if appointment 2 is not available is something different and not related to how many people log on in a short time. It would be really simple to implement correctly.

Basel Stadt is behind although the definition of vulnerable or "more vulnerable" also varies by canton. My understanding is that "elderly" is prioritised everywhere.

My guess (given that the Apotheke are at early stages administering vaccines, and large population group N just released today, is that they don’t yet know what supply they will have past end of May so have no appointments available for online booking....yet. It may vary from one Apothek chain to another, however some allow booking the first dose only, and will soon add dates for second doses in 4+ weeks

Do you know, if you press "Change appointments" are the previously booked appointments deleted immediately or they are saved until you confirm the new ones?
no they are no deleted until you select the two new appointments and press book. I rebooked mine a few times. It does look like they are deleted though, but relogging displayed them again.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

Just an update: there are, apparently, some vacant appointments in local pharmacies. We got one for May 12th, the offer just came out of the blue after we bombarded all local drugstores with something like "Liebe Apothekerinnen und Apotheker. Wir wollen uns unbedingt impfen lassen, haben Sie zufällig noch einen Termin frei? Bitte sehr."

The second shot date, allegedly, will be given on the spot when the first shot is done.

Good stuff. Although I am hearing that AG now uses Sinopharm to handle the demand.

Also Zürich according to the Tage. 52% uptake.

But nowhere because it wasn’t offered. They’ve been got at by anti-vax idiots.

Let's give it a couple of weeks to see what the "not anti vax but doesn't care enough to bother jostling in the queue" silent majority do. I'm confident with a good outreach campaign that we can get up into the 80%s
