| | Re: When can we take covid vaccine | Quote: | | | | | The recommendation for the Pfizer vaccine is 3-5 weeks for the second dose and for Moderna it’s 4 weeks.
In order to simplify things Switzerland has generally opted to make them all 4 weeks apart.
Our second doses of Pfizer vaccine were exactly four weeks after the first and the same for our son and his Moderna one. | | | | | Okay, then that makes sense. Thank you again.
I'm going to try to remember tomorrow to ask for the vaccine shot in my left / non-dominant arm just in case there is any soreness afterward.

In Belgium they do Pfizer 35 days apart and moderna 28 days, so you can guess what you'll get by the appointment dates.

So far so good. | | | | |
Where at, may I ask? Just curious in general where they tend to jab Moderna and where Pfizer. |

I was able to book an appointment in Zürich just now. For those of you who weren't able to register, Check VacMe cause it seems that they are opening more appointments. I even have the Alertswiss app and I didn't get any notification. You need to refresh the page constantly to see the new open appointments. I was trying to book an appointment for the past two weeks checking the website every day.

Who will decide which vaccine we will get in Zurich?

Managed to book in Zurich my first and second appointments this morning. Tried to book for my partner and there are appointments available for the first (3 of them on the same day and similar time), but no second appointment available in the 4 week period so CAN'T complete the process.
The Zurich system is not the greatest. I know in Graubünden, you simply select your preferred vaccination location and they send you an appointment. Much better system in my opinion.
I have spent many hours trying to find available appointments (been trying for over a week now) and finally had success.
Kanton Zurich should change the system and hand out appointments, I for one will accept any appointment given to me... it is not as if I am going anywhere...

Pfizer | | | | | Read the local newspaper this morning and last week the milestone of 100'000 people with 2 vaccine doses was achieved. So, canton about 700K, only half willing to vaccinate, yields 350K....100/350 = about 30% of people willing to vaccinate already got one in Aargau. I should get an invitation soon, only problem is we registered a few weeks later after the registrations started |

I registered ages ago, both online with the canton and with my GP. Yet to get he call - yet Valais have opened up vaccines to everyone over 16 apparently |

Yet to get he call - yet Valais have opened up vaccines to everyone over 16 apparently | | | | | As far as I know, you won‘t be called by your GP (or perhaps only if you’re in a high risk category?). Here in Zurich you need to not only register on-line at: https://zh.vacme.ch/start
and install the Alert Suisse app: https://www.alert.swiss/
But you need to constantly monitor the local press releases. When the vaccinations were offered to over 16‘s about a week or more ago, my daughter (26) got the 2 appointments for both herself and her partner at 07:00 the same day. But this was only because someone from her workplace had emailed their team early that morning that it was now available. They were ‚sold-out‘ long before 14:00 the same day (daughter says by 09:30).
I was on-line at 04:00 that day (only because I’d had a very early night), and Tages Anzeiger (TA) / 20 Minuten carried nothing about this. She texted me at 07:30 to say she had 2 appointments, and I was surprised. The TA had just around then an article as ‚breaking news‘, saying that all in Zurich over 16 can now register for one of the appointments. 20 Minutes didn‘t publish this until around 09:00 I think.
There are many younger people in Zurich feeling peeved (the people who wanted it over and above the 180‘000 vaccinations that were available I guess)
It‘s, at least until now, first come first serve. But things seem finally to be moving fast.

Sent an email about the issue trying to book for my partner and they say it was an error in the system that we saw 3 available appointments for the 1st an none for the 2nd. Now no appointments available.

Earlier today Winterthur opened lots of appointments for May, I managed to change mine for May 20. Long train ride, but still better than late evening on May 31 in Oerlikon which I had before.

People who registered in February are still waiting in Aargau.

SG system now seems to work smoothly. Registered in late April (again, long story short), got first shot today, with Moderna. However, unlike others who mention 4 weeks, the second appointment is nearly 6 weeks from now. Still within the 42 day max, though. |
