I got an SMS today giving me an appointment for next week. Im 39, live in Geneva and registered early January.

I can ask to reschedule if i want but i cannot choose a specific day or place and it might be in several weeks.

So i will try to take a day off work just to be safe and get on with it
Just my milage on appointments at Palexpo. I registered there when i thought my appointment in VD would take ages. Turned out i got an appointment in VD after a few days .. So cancelled Palexpo.
However they continued to offer me new dates which were all within a few days / week... I eventually had to call them to take me off the list since every time i cancelled i got a new date within a couple of days.

So in my experience, you can cancel and get a new date pretty quickly if the first date doesn't suit.

It may have been posted already, but does anyone have a list of which Cantons are accepting appointments from Swiss residents who reside in other Cantons?
I don’t have a list but I know that it specifically states on the Neuchâtel site that vaccination is open to all Swiss residents and frontaliers with Swiss medical insurance.

Same for me. They offered I think 3 different dates after I cancelled with them, had already my shot in VD. They automatically cancel the enrollment after I rescheduled certain amount of times. They forwarded a site link where I could re-enroll and said that there are enough doses to enroll when I am ready to. VD was painless, but it also seemed quite easy in GE even for somebody from VD, they had my addy in VD and knew I live nearby.

Hi all. Anyone experiencing trouble receiving the security code by sms when logging in to zh.vacme.ch? It worked at the beginning, but then for the last week, I don't get them anymore.

Don't know about that but there are now some early-ish (early June) appts available depending which centre you choose.
With some luck you can also still catch an appointment in the end of May, if you check often enough. And they promise to release another 30 000 appointmens at the pharmacies soon.

SG seem to be the worst at organising this - registered in March, status still "Warteliste" .

You know it's bad when Ticino are quicker at doing something...

Considering Ticino is ahead of most of Switzerland in vaccination per head, I'm surprised Tom wasn't given a date earlier.

They seem to be doing ok - in the main pack of 40 doses per 100 inhabitants. Freiburg and Schwyz are doing notably poorly. Odd that Kosmolenz got such an early date - they must have a poor take up. I guess it is an SVP canton.

SVP canton ... sure, but check AG before statements like this

By the numbers per 100 SZ does not look great, but it is organized very well. Register and await appointments, appointments come quite timely. Not like the mess in ZH. I know many who are getting their shots now and they are in their 40s. I got lucky and likely got moved a couple of weeks forward for a medical issue I mentioned on the hotline when confirming my registration but which is not really a risk by the official list. I did not oppose to get an early date.

On the waiting list in BS since Feb 24th, got an appointment in the first batch of <50 y.o. this Thursday evening. I'm very happy, as now I'll definitely be able to visit my family this summer!

Friends in Schwyz got theirs last weekend, one week after the general opening of appointments.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

While out dog walking yesterday I met someone walking their dog who happened to mention that they don't want the vaccine. They don't feel they need it even though they said they knew a number of people who died from Covid, some young.

I have yet to meet anyone who has told me they don't want the vaccine, in fact, quite the opposite.

This person went on to say that they have "respect" for anyone who does want the vaccine. I cannot say I feel the same way about people who don't want the vaccine. The way I see it, vaccination is the only way forward. Unless there is a medication condition which makes vaccination impossible, why should it be optional?

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

Just had a curious incident. We called our cantonal vaccine people, to check our registration was ok because we'd heard nothing ( and know of people our age who have been called).

We were told that they were aiming to have everyone vaccinated in the next month.... but that they are giving 2 doses at once as it's too difficult to get everyone back a second time Surely that can't be right? My husband made the call, and I do not discount him having mis-understood, but if he didn't I am very surprised by this. I will let you know when we finally get to go.
