I doubt it, but who knows?

Let's see how long this shit lasts. My GP is a bit of an anti-vaxxer and I would hate giving him the opportunity to feel right

1Ĺ days after the second dose I would confirm this is not true!
So you've had Covid and 2 doses with no side effects?

Exactly. Many people have had Covid and don't know it.
And that's actually what I would like to get tested. But either they don't offer it or they don't advertise it or ..... I'm just deaf and blind in spite of looking exactly for such a test?!

In my opinion that would be an antibody test but they seem to call anything an antibody test these days. So which one would it be? LOL.

There is an antibody test. You probably have to ask your GP and pay for it out of your own pocket.

It’s impossible to generalise as there are lots of factors involved.

Our son definitely hasn’t had Covid and he was knocked out for a day following his second dose of Moderna. Age us a fairly important factor, younger people tend to produce a much bigger immune response to vaccines than older people.

Actually Iím hearing from a lot of people who has covid and 2 doses that if you had covid the first dose will give you side effects.
If you have not had covid you will have side effects after second dose.

I had my first dose together with husband and 2 teenage kids yesterday. We have not had covid and we are totally fine apart from some pain in the arm.
I just hope that after second dose will be same as we are flying 2 days after.

The nurse who reminded me to hang on to my plaster this morning also told me that 93% of people have had no side effects whatsoever. I have absolutely no idea if that is scientific fact or just his own guesswork though!
Well, he definitely got that wrong in my case. I have been in bed for the last 24 hours with fever (39į), shivering fits, aches and pains, tiredness... basically like a good dose of flu with a really sore arm as a bonus. Started about 8 hours after the vaccination, and is just beginning to get better now. I had no symptoms at all after the first dose.

Moi aussi !!

Second vax yesterday at 11.30 .. Felt fine all day and night and off to bed as usual.. Woke at 2am with a 39.8 fever.. Shakes etc.. Couldn't get back to sleep until 5am .. Up again 2 hours later.. Felt cold and sore all over until about 2pm when the uncontrollable shakes came..

I think it's easing off now, just been shopping .. Just cold and general aches now.

How do you know he definitely hasnít had Covid? They reckon a high percentage of people have had it with no symptoms and have no clue.

I had first Moderna this morning and my arm is killing, canít lift it more than 45 degrees, other than that fine so far.

Regular tests plus an antibody test on top of him having had no symptoms at all ever seem pretty conclusive to me.

Yes, that seems to be what happens most of the time particularly with the Moderna vaccine.

I think this - and also if you have had Covid the 2nd dose will probably be if anything even worse than the 1st dose as you will be swimming with antibodies by then.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

As I understand you can only avoid second dose and get a certificate for full vaccination if you had a positive PCR test before. The antibodies test is not considered.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

We probably had this already, but there is data from the CDC summarized by ZDF (in German) on first/second dose effects for Moderna and Biontech.

Seems pretty normal what many are going through now, but I have to say I was surprised by how strong the effects are in my case.

So you had all the symptoms but are allowed out - how do they guarantee after giving you covid basically not to be contagious?

I read all these horror-stories here and sure wonder. I'v had endless vaccines in my life and never ever had any reactions to them, not even a limp arm.
So what could be "wrong" with this one?!

On the other hand I had two elderly friends getting Pfizer/BioNTech in February and had no problems at all (can't vouch for a sore arm though but that would be peanuts).

Remember the mantra .. Don't be selfish, get the vax, protect those around you!!

So it must be fine

PS : The arm pain is fairly significant .. Not debilitating at all but damn sore..

Aha.

Well, hope you feel better soon. Is your family getting it at the same time with you now or has had it already? Might work like eating garlic ....

Still, it's surprising, had you all those symptoms out of the blue, you'd all panic. If you get them from the vaccine, it's accepted.
