Don't you just think that perhaps, if the effects were actually hindered by ibuprofen, this would have been mentioned in the paperwork given to patients after the vaccine had been administered?

I just thought I'd share that.
I've read similar to what Pancakes posted in various online articles. I agree with you, if this really was something the manufacturers or doctors didn't want people to do, or if it was actually dangerous, such contraindication should be in official paperwork given to the patient.

I'm not a doctor, but I don't see why taking a standard dose of ibuprofen would be a problem, unless there's something specific with mRNA vaccines that is different. The point of any vaccine is to stimulate an immune response, which of course means some inflammation. Reducing inflammation doesn't counteract the vaccine itself. It just means less inflammation and therefore less miserable side effects. I'm for that.

I've read online that the vaccine turns you into a zombie or you get injected with a microchip....

Anyways, something I wanted to mention here is that the nurse (?) that was giving me the vaccine told me that it's best to NOT take Ibuprofen to treat any side-effects and that Dafalgan should be taken instead. Yesterday, I knew that Ibuprofen would 'fix' my headache better than Dafalgan,
It's fairly normal in the medical profession to prefer to recommend paracetamol (aka acetaminophen in the US) over ibuprofen for low to mid pain, especially headaches, and generally, for most people most of the time, it is at least as effective. For headache alone, but definitely for fever, I'd tend to prefer it myself, although for some of my pain issues ibuprofen does work better.

I think part of it is the, admittedly very low, risk of stomach issues with NSAIDs, such that when they are prescribed, e.g. post-op, they're often done so alongside a PPI (proton pump inhibitor) to reduce the acidity. I've often felt they're overly concerned about this, but it seems to have been preached throughout the world as standard medical approach, so their rather cautious advice is understandable.

t said that Ibuprofen could possibly hinder the effects of the vaccine by reducing inflammation that your body is otherwise being trained to learn how to fight (from the vaccine). So I just thought I'd share that.
I don't think that makes any sense at all. The vaccine isn't training the body to react to, or to fight, inflammation, simply to produce the required antibodies to stop the virus taking hold and multiplying if you're exposed to it.

I didn't get that. A bit of a headache, a sore arm....oh, and a greyish pallor and a sudden liking for raw meat - preferably so fresh it's still alive....

But, apart from that, I've never felt better....

Arzthaus Stadelhofen has lots of free appointments. I was even able to schedule my second shot to there to avoid going to Winterthur again. The phone number is on their website.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

I felt bad in the evening and at night after the second dose (strong pain in the arm appeared 3 hours after vaccination and fever and muscle pain appeared in the evening). First I tried paracetamol but it didn't help at all, finally I took ibuprofen in the middle of the night and it made a huge difference. I felt fever going down already after 5 minutes and I was able to fall asleep. I'm feeling myself much better in the morning, no effects apart from pain in the arm but it's much weaker than yesterday.

Re: When can we take covid vaccine

Poll came out where OW showed 40% people not wanting to get vaccinated, highest in Switzerland ahead of AI. Looking at the vaccination stats that show almost same number of people with two jabs and one jab - are they done already???

Don't think so but it certainly is not well organized here in OW. By chance, I ran in to my doc one afternoon who let me know that he had a few jabs available the following afternoon; that's how my wife got #1. I ended up dragging my son (17) to ZH to get his #1 as we got tired of waiting. I know of several other people who are still waiting for #1.

Im pretty suspicious of that data - they can't have done that few first jabs in the last 4 weeks.

The graph shows maybe 500 first vaccines (only) done.

401, to be precise. It is the data published by BAG. Agree it looks weird, that's why I was asking.
