Are you expecting the other ca. 7.5 million to be dead by the time the vaccine arrives?

I assumed the 1.5 million was the population of Zurich.

The selfishness seen throughout the pandemic is why we are still in this mess and I will not contribute to it! OP, wait in line with everyone else.

Shushhh, I've been mentioning that on a couple related threads and was almost "lynched".. :p Mention it again at your own peril. :p

Well, for those in ZH - the cantonal registration is up, it actually went up last night: https://www.zh.ch/de/gesundheit/coro...s-impfung.html

And already - at this moment, I can't get the page to load. If you do succeed in registering you will only get a six digit code, and your vaccination group. You'll be asked to come back and register an appointment when your group is up and ready.

Just an FYI...

Only because of the way the UK is vaxcing. It's done 55% of adults at least once now - including everyone in my extended family except one solitary cousin (21).

Apparently, more vaccines will be delivered to GPs in Canton Zurich by the end of March/early April, but I believe it is only 100 doses, which doesn't sound like a lot.

We had exactly the same response from our Doctor regarding my husband who has an underlying condition. She also commented that there were people worse off than him. Since then her IT husband set up a website for her patients to register which we duly did. We have since received three emails basically showing her frustration at the system, at her patients and at the virus in general. She also recommended that patients register wherever they can and to not rely on her and to effectively leave her alone.

We have spent a lot of time in Graubunden in our second home and when my husband picked up a repeat prescription of his blood pressure drugs, the Pharmacist asked if he was registered for the vaccine. We explained that it wasn't possible to register at that point in ZH. She gave us another website which should only be used on recommendation and also said that I should register too as a person living with a high risk person. We have done that, but don't really feel sure that we should have. Our registration is for ZH, so not another Canton, but with another GP.

We have no desire to jump the queue or play around with the system, but the misinformation from all sides is frustrating beyond belief.

Thank you for this helpful information. Did you manage to get on the website in the end?

Just registered myself and hubby for our vaccinations.

I also read that my husband could register as a person living with a high risk patient. He doesn't exactly want to jump the queue, but it feels like a moot point right now anyway. I can't even register on any waiting list for the vaccine and might end up having to wait until my age group is called. But then it begs the question of why they even even define a group for high risk patients?

Surely as a high risk patient you should be in one of the first groups regardless of your age?

Theoretically, yes. For high risk patients, they recommend that you get the vaccine from your local GP rather than go to the vaccination centre which looks like they want to just use for the relevant age groups.

But if you go to a vaccination centre, you have to bring a medical certificate from the GP stating that you are a high risk patient.

So my next step is finding out whether my GP can provide this medical certificate, but there is no clear answer on how I can register/make an appointment at a vaccination centre as a high risk patient. It looks like you can only make an appointment once you are in the right age group.

I'm still in the process of making queries, so once I work it out, I'll report back. But I suspect that the doctors don't know much more than I do, unfortunately.

When you register in Zurich they ask you medical questions (and also for example if you live with a high risk patient, what kind of job you do etc) and that puts you in a specific group for vaccination. So I would assume with your situation you would be in one of the early ones.

Yes, I have already registered, and the final message I received was that my group was not yet eligible. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long.

Re: Register in multiple cantons for vaccine?

I just registered my husband. He’s in group D. In Kt Zurich. He’s under 65 (58) lives with a high risk person (me) and works from home. I’ve already had my 1st vax (over 65, high risk). Everything worked easily. The site’s in German and French.

The job question is whether you’re in health care, work with a lot of people, work from home....stuff like that.

It seems that in zrh, you have to be 3months past a corona diagnosis for a vax. I read that really fast with my crap German.

Is everyone just ignoring the "If you're 65 or older" part of the instructions? On the ZH site?
I'm tempted to register, but I'm nervous as to whether there'll be penalties for registering when they specifically asked you not to.

Self edit, I notice that once you're on the site, it doesn't ask you the "if 65+" bit again.

Re: Register in multiple cantons for vaccine?

I registered on the Schwyz site several months ago. The site allowed everyone to register, but the canton is following the BAG risk group strategy.

I got a PIN code after registering, but there is no mention of being assigned to a risk group (A, B, C, D, etc), as several posters have mentioned on this thread.

Have any of you fellow Schwyzers been assigned a risk group letter?

The only Schwyzers I know who have received the vaccine were able to do so via intervention from their GPs. Despite being registered the app didn't notify them, even though they were in the age group called, and had qualifying conditions.

Have any of you been notified via the Schwyz app?

---

I saw my GP last week, who said they still have no idea when my age group will be called. (Currently ony calling 65+.) The canton is expecting a shipment of the vaccine in April - but only something like 3-5K doses. Which won't go far.

Even my GP is not able to get the vaxx yet - which seems to me absurd given the number of patients seen daily.

As far as I know Bern and Zurich are the cantons issuing letters for risk group categories. All the cantons have their own system.

Looking at the Neuchâtel canton website it seems they managed to vaccinate 6000 people last week which is quite promising, they were playing catch up after having to postpone a lot of appointments from the previous week due to a delay in vaccine delivery.

I think they imply or that you’ll be put in the queue. I had the same concern when I saw it, but I put my husband’s info in and it assigned him to a group. The screening questionnaire asks only if you are over 16, and about your symptoms.

For those that are interested in ZH - here is the breakdown of their groups: https://www.zh.ch/de/gesundheit/coro...html#-72400422

What i find interesting - is that High Risk Patients of any age and 65 and overs have priority before healthcare workers.

Also regular adult range is 18-49! Way to break that up into smaller groups.

At least Zurich have some useful info - middle of a weekday and SG site currently says:

Kanton St.Gallen

Wartungsarbeiten

Es finden momentan Wartungsarbeiten statt.
Die Webseite des Kantons St.Gallen wird in Kürze wieder verfügbar sein.

I guess if the service hours for their website are similar to the service hours of most cantonal offices it'll be back up tomorrow between 10:00 and 11:30.

It breaks it up via the questions. Anedoctal I know but a friend of mine ended up in a more priority group given the person cannot work from home and is client facing. The letter of priority is before mine.
