| | Re: Desinfectant drying hands. What do you do? | Quote: | | | | | The disgusting smell of the hand sanitiser at COOP in CH takes some beating, having spent time in Verbier during the first lockdown I could not believe it. Never come across anything as bad in France or Malta. | | | | | Some stores put a bit of perfume in the dispensers in the beginning of the whole crisis, it was hard to pretend that the smelly slime isn't on my hands..

The Bodyshop Hemp Hand Protector is very good. Smell is a bit marmite though.

I've heard that hemp is good for skin. And we do have Bodyshop in GE, yay.
So many good tips and wisdoms.

| | Re: Desinfectant drying hands. What do you do? | Quote: | | | | | Hey, I will give it a shot. One has to love Aldi. Can I carry it around? My briefcase will die if it's too chunky. I'll portion off a bit to a container. | | | | | A tube is 75ml. So not big, but perhaps more than you want to carry around in your handbag. FYI, K-Tipp rated the Aldi SOS concentrate tops in a recent test. It really is good stuff.
By the way Vaseline - the real thing - is always in stock at our local Spar, and you can get it on the Coop online shop. Sadly not in store ar our Coop, but perhaps at others. Something like 3-4 Chuffs for 100ml, which anywhere else would be highway robbery but a bargain in der Schweiz.

Vaseline works, but it isn't the most pleasant thing to have to wear.
This stuff has been a life saver for me since I was a child with eczema, still use it to this day: https://ch.iherb.com/pr/Eucerin-Orig...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
Looks a bit like schmalz and my husband likes to complain there is "chicken grease" everywhere when I have to wear it, but it really works.

You may have been wasting your time ... https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/08/h...-surfaces.html | Quote: | | | | But the era of “hygiene theater” may have come to an unofficial end this week, when the C.D.C. updated its surface cleaning guidelines and noted that the risk of contracting the virus from touching a contaminated surface was less than 1 in 10,000. | | | | | | The following 3 users would like to thank bowlie for this useful post:

My gf says she has found a sanitiser that doesn't affect her sensitive skin. If I can find out what it is I'll let you know.

I found some DM Drogerie stuff in Coop and Migros, some Rossmann stuff in Denner here.

It was this from Migros but not sure if they still sell it. 70% ethanol. Not sure what our other disinfectants are as they don't say. | This user would like to thank Landers for this useful post:

Another thing is also to dry the hands properly after washing, or they become even more dried out.

I don't need some extremely expensive famous brands stuff.

I use lots of different ones because of eczema and don't use desinfectant because my skin would bleed. Different creams ar good for flakes and different ones for moisture.
I found Biotherm biomains for be good for hydration.
Emu oil is good for both. So is a good quality grapeseed oil.
I would recommend putting cream on your hands and wearing a glove, especially overnight - is more effective.
A bit heavy but my mother also like badger's balm and lavera on less heavy side.

But she seems to have missed the bit where the chances of getting the virus from a surface is 1 in 10,000. About he same chance as getting a blood clot from the AZ vaccine.
You can stop sanitising people. Be like Tom!
