| | Choosing a vaccine in Vaud?
While both Pfizer & Moderna are approved in Switzerland, I wonder if it is possible to choose/foresee a particular vaccine among the two?
Or it is always whatever they have in the stock in a point of time? I have an appointment at CHUV (Lausanne) in mid July, however their website doesn't mention particular vaccine type being used and neither they are accepting questions related to vaccination.
Thank you in advance!

They do tell you which vaccine while you are getting it, but not necessarily in advance. However if your appointment is at CHUV, there is a good chance that you will receive the Pfizer jab, because they have the ultra-cold storage facilities there. I went to Beaulieu for my first dose and they are doing Moderna there because it is a bit easier to store.

Pfizer is now officially allowed to be stored in normal fridge for 31 days.

Thanks! But neither of you were given a choice, right?
I'd be interested in taking Pfizer too.

In that topic, I have upcoming vaccination appointment. The info says I should bring my insurance card but also 'carnet de vaccination'. What is it?
I guess it's perhaps something the swiss have since childhood but I've never heard about it. I've found this, should I just print it? https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/fr/home...pfausweis.html
Anyway, is it necessary or just optional?

It only takes a couple of days for the BAG to send you one for free or you can buy one at a pharmacy. Good backup plan if you get a digital certificate but your phone dies rendering it useless but each to their own.

To order (for free) or download from BAG: Go to https://www.bag.admin.ch/ and search for "Impfausweis" (German) or "Certification de vaccination" (French). Maybe someone can advise on versions in other languages.

However since I can just download it, perhaps I can also just print it myself.

One more question: how do they handle the second appointment? Do they give you the second appointment during the first one? Or you are supposed to register yourself for the second one as well?

You can also get the International Certificate of Vaccination at your pharmacy. It is not free - I think it costs about CHF2. Take it with you and the person who gives you the shot will fill it out for you. You can use this for int'l travel. At least, that's what I was told.
