@bowlie - click over the qr code - it will open another window (also showing QR code) and more info, including validity.

When I scan the app, using Covid Check I see my name, my first name and my date of birth. That’s it ...
To read the QR code, you need to use the 2nd app “Covid Certificate Check”

The Covid Certificate Check app doesn’t give the expiry date, it just says the certificate is valid at that time.

The Covid certificate app gives all the info including vaccine type, vaccine date and expiry date.

Swiss Commission decides vaccine protection lasts 12 months

I would expect that the vaccine certificate is active for that same period.
I hope the certificate validity period will be amended eventually but at the moment is is only valid for 180 days following the second vaccine, in Switzerland at least.

Just a little warning: I just checked the rules for France and the devil is in the details: Getting your second shot of vaccine is not enough. It has to be at least two weeks past the second vaccination or your still need that PCR test on top.

Olygirl, did the expiration date appear only in the app?

I've downloaded my certificate as a paper copy (cause I'm a luddite ) and there is no expiration date. I haven't uploaded it to the app yet, though...
That's right. You won't see it on the certificate, which is odd.

Yes you do...

'If you are vaccinated:

you are not subject to any health measures.
If you are not vaccinated:

upon boarding, each traveller aged 11 years or older must present a negative PCR or antigenic test taken less than 72 hours before the flight.'

https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/co...ce/#sommaire_1

And the advice for vaccinated people...

Re: Covid vaccine and travel

Traveled to France via car over the weekend for 2 nights. One fully vaccinated since a month and one with one dose of Pfizer plus antigen test <24hrs old. At no point on the journey either at the border or hotel or museum/restaurant or anywhere else we visited were we asked for any paperwork. The rule to wear masks outside in France has also now been relaxed plus the curfew lifted. People were respectful of distances but otherwise life was back to normal & everyone was enjoying themselves.

Do you need one? The expiry date wasn’t written on the pdf document.

Doesn’t the QR code stay the same just with updated info?

Your interpretation is the same as mine. It does read a little contradictorily on the official site though (mainly because of the reference to "all travellers" when describing the exception - see https://www.bmi.bund.de/SharedDocs/f...trol-list.html).

"No pandemic-related travel restrictions currently apply to travellers entering Germany from member states of the European Union or from Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Iceland. However, under the Ordinance on Coronavirus Entry Regulations (Coronavirus-Einreiseverordnung) all travellers are required to complete digital registration on entry, to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result depending on the risk status of the country of departure or the mode of transport (aircraft), and to comply with the quarantine regulations."

Has anyone travelled to Germany since the removal of Switzerland from the list? I'd like to do some border shopping this weekend

EDIT: This article seems to confirm no test nor quarantine needed - https://www.dw.com/en/coronavirus-ge...ist/a-57954645, at least when travelling over land. Admittedly it doesn't appear to expressly state whether this rule also applies to unvaccinated travellers, though.

Re: Covid vaccine and travel

Re-open EU still says that all travellers need a PCR test to transit through France by road, yet also states that fully vaccinated people from the EU+ area can enter the country without needing any kind of test. A bit contradictory...

The only restriction on Swiss people border shopping in Germany is one may not stay more 24 hours; no difference for tested or untested people, vaccinated or not.

Thanks! Any chance you might be able to point me to a source? I have come across tons detailing the 24 hour rule when the entry restrictions were initially eased, but not anything more recent. Seems like when the 24 hour rule was introduced, it was only permitted for vaccinated shoppers to enter the country for this period?

EDIT: in trawling through the information across various German government sites, it struck me how relatively simply the Swiss information is set out. Flow diagrams and direct links to lists etc. are particularly helpful, and seemingly non-existent for most other countries!
