Where to buy ivermectin?

The title says it all. I'm curious where in Switzerland I can buy ivermectin?

It is not registered here - so you cant.

If you are close to the german or french border you could nip over. In Germany it is sold under Driponin & France under - Mectizan or Stromectol - prescription only!

I used to bring it from the US in the form of 1.87% equine wormer in paste form. It seems to be unavailable now, even from that source. The pill form you shouldn't touch with a barge pole.

One can indeed still purchase Ivermectin dewormer in paste form for horses in the US. Whether or not one can get it shipped here I don’t know, but it is for sure still available even if most equine dewormers now use combination drugs or other active ingredients. Ivermectin seems to be falling out of favor with animal dewormers, not sure if there is some resistance building or what but it’s not often recommended for dogs anymore.

Seems like something a vet would be able to sell you?

Not in Switzerland!

Also OP didnt state if it was for a pet.
Ivermectin is also authorised for use in humans.

But either way you are right in that doctor should be consulted (vet or human)
Ivermectin is not something one should use without medical supervision.

I had the same issue - needed it for my guinea pigs but I managed to have some brought in a suitcase. When I was looking myself, I found this rescue in the US says it will ship here:

Many really brave hu-mans are using it as a prophylactic against COVID. I know a few crazy South Africans are dipping into their bovine stash.

The US market has been stripped by the folks with rosacea. Soolantra (Rx) was $400/tube, so people started buying up the apple-flavoured horse gel. It was dead cheap--$5 for a few months' worth of treatments. My skin was sandpaper dry, itchy, with red bumps. It took only months of daily ivermectin to make it baby soft (vs. 6 months for my sister, who used Soolantra). Now the market continues to suffer because Soolantra went off-patent and then for some reason became unavailable.

I don't have time to look right now for better articles . If you do some research you can find many articles around ivermectin being used in many countries to help with the covid crisis. Mexico, Peru, Zimbabwe.

This is the first link that came up - because I know many people can't be bothered googling .
The FLCCC are recommending it. https://covid19criticalcare.com/

Taking large doses of this drug is dangerous and can cause serious harm.
If you have a prescription for ivermectin get it from a legitimate source and take it exactly as prescribed.
Never use medications intended for animals on yourself. Ivermectin preparations for animals are very different from those approved for humans.

Normally true, and certainly for ivermectin oral, but not for ivermectin topical. I worked in the pharma industry for 30 years. Horses have notoriously delicate digestive systems (I know, I lost a gorgeous gelding to severe colic.)

The ivermectin gel I shoved down my horse's throat is very similar to Soolantra, except that in the Rx it is diluted to 1% by a Lubriderm-type lotion. Exact same active ingredient, common gel delivery system. That's why the rosacea community is actively promoting it.

Ivermectin in your innards is a horse of a different flavour.

I am not sure if the OP was looking for ivermectin for themselves (maybe as a prophylactic?) but I have hope that it becomes more widely acceptable to use this drug for treatment of covid. I have been researching a lot and came across this - recommendation is for the administration of ivermectin plus other medications and supplements. I think time will tell.

I was going to post in the coronavirus or conspiracy thread but thought this might only be interesting for those who have researched ivermectin.

There was a Lancet article the other day detailing the use of large-dose ivermectin for Covid (in Argentina I think). The results were interesting enough to call for more trials. I wouldn't just take the stuff on my own...bit like taking chloroquine on your own (!).

until there are studies that can end up like chloroquine.

Besides, you can just get a shot now, and avoid asking yourself these questions entirely.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...rge-livestock/

The plea from Mississippi’s top doctor to a state grappling with the nation’s second-lowest vaccination rate seemed simple: Do not take ivermectin — a drug intended for treating worms in livestock — to prevent or treat the coronavirus.

Despite no scientific evidence that ivermectin is effective at preventing or treating covid-19, State Health Officer Thomas Dobbs was left baffled this week after one person was hospitalized for ingesting the horse dewormer medication to treat the virus — a “kind of crazy” act he likened to getting chemotherapy at a feed store.

“Please don’t do that,” he said.

...

Ivermectin, which had been used in some countries in Latin America as a covid treatment, took off in popularity at the start of the year; the FDA said at least three people were hospitalized in February after taking the veterinary formulation. In places like Nevada, customers flocked to feed stores in search of the deworming drug to help fight against covid. Makenna LaFond, who works at Sierra Feed and Saddlery in Reno, recalled to The Post earlier this year what she’d have to tell people seeking ivermectin to treat or prevent covid, “No, that’s not for you. That’s for a 1,100-pound horse.”

“Then, they would buy, like, six tubes of it,” she said.

then went to raid the fastfood places to meet the necessary weight? :D

Actually, apart from the very serious cases needing respirators or developing other heavy sequelae - how is covid actually treated?
Afaik there is no treatment, one just has to go through it, like the flue.
