Such a strong reaction to the first dose would indicate that you had already had Covid at some point and developed antibodies . Have you ever had your antibody levels measured?
I've wondered about that.

I'd never had any symptoms, and as far as I know was not in contact with an infected person. I've been ultra careful throughout the pandemic. But who knows?

Given that I've been vaxx'd and recently boosted, would measuring now tell me anything?

Yes. That you were 80 CHF richer before the antibody test.

Re: Anybody got the second Moderna shot without side-effects?

Had my Moderna booster yesterday at 2pm. With the second shot, side effects kicked in approx 12 hours later so was prepared for that.Woke up several times during the night feeling cold but no fever. So I thought I might be fine this time. But nope, around 6am whole body started aching, fever of 38.6C. In bed all day today and while I feel a little better, still definitely not a 100%.

All 3 shots were Moderna for me:
1: sore arm and about a week later, my whole upper arm swelled up, red and hot. Eventually faded in a week or so.
2: sore arm, approx 12 hours later, cold sweats, body aches, all day fever of 39.4C. Took about 4 days to feel normal again.
3: approx 16 hours later, body aches and fever of 38.6C

My regular temperature is rather low, around 35.6C so anything above 37.5 really knocks me down...

My partner had the same side effects as me for the 1st and 2nd. But for the booster he only took the morning off work today as he hadn't slept well, but felt fine this afternoon.

It should tell you whether you have had a previous infection.
There are two types of antibodies and if you have had covid you should have both types. The vaccine alone only produces the anti spike ‘S’ antibodies and not the ‘N’ ones.

The antibody test costs 48chf and is not reimbursed by the insurance.
