C Permit
I am double vaxed in Switzerland.
UK national
Flying to London to see my mother Friday afternoon and returning Sunday morning
Why do I need to do a Day 2 test when I am travelling back to Zurich on that day ?
How do I do a day 2 test in this situation if its required
Would it be possible to do a home test ? but I don't see any point of that. | | | | | You have to book the test, if you book in clinic you can often get a refund if cancelled 24 hours before as I did with both 2/8 day tests on a 1 day trip.

In fact they don’t offer in clinic day 2 and 8 tests at all. I’ve completely failed to find anywhere that offers refunds. Only solution for a day trip seems to be to pay 140 gbp for a day2+8 that you don’t take.

Perhaps easiest to book a cheap home test (ca. GBP40) - of course you would get the result after you have returned here.....

Any recommendations for a chemist in Zürich doing antigen tests?
It’s for a relative flying back to UK this weekend.
Efficient service at a reasonable price point and an understanding about travel certificates are the criteria.
Bonus points if you have done this journey recently.

They are not free (covered by insurance) if they are for travel.

The test is for a non-Swiss resident so it costs regardless.
We’ll try the Radisson Blu test centre at Zurich airport
CHF74 for an antigen test with certificate.
I assume their location means they will be well-versed in handling travellers.

I've used the corona testing van at Bahnhof Enge for an antigen test for travel to the UK for a non-resident. The cost was Fr. 50. Just ask for the letter to be in English. https://corona-testing.ch/ | The following 3 users would like to thank Rayne for this useful post: | |

I have tickets to see Genesis in Manchester on the 27th, and I'm afraid I'll have to waste some €250 or so by getting the tests (my wife and I) to return home, after just 3 days of being there.

Im pretty certain you could make up a number of the passenger locator form for the day 2 test. The uk aren't checking them and the airline are just checking it's filled in. They have no way of judging the veracity of the information

Forget about any service offering an additional travel certificate, the 'vanilla' one they offered in German & English is fine.
Of course, it was never checked by anyone in the end so it was as well we had this 'cheap' option.
Thanks, Rayne!

The kit costs just a few francs (I have a drawer full of them), so I'm literally paying CHF 50 for someone to say they saw the result and certify its correctness.
I wish the government would step in and stop this blatant profiteering. In Germany quick testing is free, and you get a PDF certificate.

I genuinely didn't know this and got my antigen test in Basel and talked with the person doing the test about my travel plans and how most of her customers were Brits. She didn't bat an eyelid.
I was never asked if it was travel, and volunteered the information casually. Looks like they really aren't trying to catch people.

I agree the whole thing is pretty close to a scam but don’t grudge the Swiss surgery the money. It’s the UK (and devolved) Government(s) that are at fault for demanding the tests.

I have been going through a few websites now where the costs are from 20 GBP and you fill out the whole form just to see that the final cost is like 70 GBP. I really don't want to spend 70 GBP for this.
