Covid certificates for travel by car to Italy

Hello,

Can anyone explain the difference between a Swiss Covid digital certificate and an EU one. Two adults in group are fully vaccinated, 15 year old teen is only partially vaccinated. Planning to drive to Italy. Cannot figure out if child needs certificate or proof of testing or anything. Do paper copies count? I know you can upload to a Swiss digital certificate but is that accepted in Italy? Can you also get an EU one? Has anyone done this drive to Italy recently? Thanks.

Yes, with kids - and with a paper certificate for each of us from a test done in the previous 48 hrs prior to departure.

Yes, nobody checked but I think it would be disrespectful of Italy's requirements not to do the test if anyone is unvaccinated.

Re: Covid certificates for travel by car to Italy

We just went by train.

Swiss Covid certificate is fine (digital or paper).

Your child needs a test and the antigen test is fine. You'll get a certificate which you can also load on your phone with your covid certificates. It's in the same format.

Don't forget to fill in the entry form for Italy.

Hi a quick summary...

Can anyone explain the difference between a Swiss Covid digital certificate and an EU one.
In practice, none.

Quote:
Cannot figure out if child needs certificate or proof of testing or anything.
Proof of testing. Vaccination is valid only after 14 days from the second dose.
The test certificate is also (usually) a QR code.

Do paper copies count?
Yes.

Yes.

Can you also get an EU one?
No, because the Swiss one is equivalent.

Both are valid.

As already said: don't forget to fill the "Passenger Locator Form"! https://app.euplf.eu/#/
