Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

Don't know what you mean by ratio, but the CH authorities /medical establishments are finally starting to come out with antibody levels and guidance, esp. as per 3rd dose and immunity.

These are good guidance in my view and support what my Dr has been saying for over half a year (sorry in French from local hospitals)

https://www.hug.ch/sites/interhug/fi...sars-cov-2.pdf

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...Si_rrmlkxC7wHb

Basically if your levels are under 300 U/ml (IgG anti-S) they recommend a third dose.

I previously summarised my experience with antibody testing, anti-n and anti-S, in the coronavirus thread earlier if anyone is interested. Safe to say won't be needing any 3rd dose ever most likely.

Interesting links but they don't say where their recommendation of 300 U/ml (IgG anti-S) comes from which is a pity.

Googling around people seem to be reluctant to give a recommendation and the tests of immune people gives inconsistent results (levels).

From what I have received, if your level is under 300 and you have immunodeficiency, then they recommend another shot.

Would you know at what antibody level they recommend another shot for those who are not immunodeficient?

Do you have any estimates from the doctors what your antibody level was before vaccination?

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

From the way I see it my 3rd jab will raise my immunity level from wherever it was before. But, regretfully, I still wonít be 100% immune. Thatís because there remain too many unvaccinated people, too many people that donít wear a mask in public, too many people that donít wash their hands frequently, too many people that donít socially distance. All of whom think they have natural immunity which simply doesnít exist.

The odds show that if you follow the rules and get vaccinated your chances of becoming infected are drastically reduced. But as immunity is not 100% you still could be infected but the disease is much less severe.

People, the end of this pandemic is in your hands. As I have said before, Iím not doing all of this for me, Iím doing it for you. Please return the favour.

Yep, this was my observation as well - no transparency or rationale for how they arrived at that threshold which really is only going to come from serial serology measurements in a longitudinal study that are well followed up. I believe there are studies in both Belgium & France that will be publishing results over the next few months covering this

Is there any news when 3rd shot will be available for everyone? I heard some rumours about December?

Would be surprised if that's the case. Hubby can't even get one and he's in a vulnerable group while I did just because I'm over 65. He needs his doctor to either register him for one or write a prescription for the booster for him.

I think they will be approved in a few weeks (December?), but then there'll be a glut of people to get through (hopefully!) before all the rest of us can get them. Expect the 6 months from the 2nd dose to be strictly observed.
My reasoning is based on what was said in the press conference with Mr. Berger earlier this week.

Unfortunately it's too late and too slow, as usual, IMO.
Vaccine efficiency is dropping after 4 months especially for older people.

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

Unfortunately not a great show by BAG and Swissmedic here. I support the concept of keeping measures as mild as possible - but then this needs to come with full throttle on 3rd jabs, and 1st jabs for kids.

Check your Canton website. All I can give is anecdotal info. Was at a big vaccination center on Friday in VD with my son who is a minor. There were about 30-40 people in the queue, nearly all of them elderly. Only my son and another young man about 20 were not. So it seems the average age was at about 70 for 95+% of people there and of the ones I overheard, it was all about 3rd dose.

Our Doctor received a batch of boosters and couldn't rake up much interest from her over 65 patient base. My husband and I are 61 abd 60 and she said she would happily vaccinate us if we signed a waiver. As much as I would like a booster, I would also like to know what implications it would have on our certificates. We are 6 months since our second Moderna shot and I wouldn't want to be out of sync with our certification validation.

Also got my booster, unfortunately this time with quite bad reaction and had to pull sick leave for 3 days. But screw it, still much better than my past experiences with pneumonia...

Unlike many other countries, Swissmedic does not have the legal framework to grant emergency authorisations. What we have now is an authorisation based on science and not politics. That takes more time.

Someone posted recently about this. Sorry, I can't remember who. Maybe AbFab? The certificate was updated fairly quickly after the booster to reflect a new end date.

While I agree with the sentiment*, your level of immunity has nothing to do with others being vaccinated or wearing a mask.

*edit: I am doing this for me, and if it has benefits for the public, so be it

After my third jab a young lady carefully entered my details into her Computer. She said last time you asked for confirmation by e-mail. Do you want that again? Yes please I said. I asked when my Covid Certificate would be updated? She just took my phone, scanned her screen and it was done. Got the e-mail about an hour later.
