To my understanding the new validity will be 12 months from the date of the booster. See post from ennui:
In my case it was 12 months from the date of the booster.. so Nov 2022, not Feb 2023.

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

Anyone who's had theirs is it still a 10 minute wait after the jab or is it jab and then straight out the door? Getting mine tomorrow morning and just wondering how it works this time around.

I was directed to a lady who entered the details into her computer, that took a couple of minutes. If itís crowded (wasnít for me) it likely will take a few more minutes.

But basically slam, bam, jab, paperwork, out the door.

Oh don't you worry, there will be another booster 6-9 months from now, followed by another, and another...
And that doesn’t worry me. One injection every six months to save your life or prevent long Covid is a no-brainer.

For those in canton Luzern, you can now sign up for the booster even if you are not entitled to it yet. They say they will contact you when it's available for your age group (same method as for the initial vaccinations, which worked well):

If so rather that than risk the side effects of the drugs you have to take if you get a bit of a nasty bout.

Some virologists think the 3rd may last. Even if not, this is something that was always thought likely and I personally suspect will become an annual pre-winter thing.

Can here in Fribourg canton as well.

Hubby registered, but he's not eligible yet despite being in a vulnerable group because he's not 65.

Yes, same for me today for the booster. Still recommending 15 minutes minimum if you haven't had the 1st 2 ones yet.

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

Well, that was a surprise. Was fine after the jab, arm a little sore, but that's all. Then last night when I went to bed I suddenly started shivering and did so for about 15-20 minutes before it stopped. Feeling a bit slow and fragile this morning so taking things easy and not rushing anything.

Didn't get anything like that with the previous 2 jabs.

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

well.. as I started this.. I just got my booster appointment for mid Dec, through my (big pharma) employer

still seems that getting a booster jab is a very messy business in CH ... it's pretty much a walk-in for the over 45s in the UK

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

Received a text message from ZH Canton this evening inviting me to book for a booster shot - choose from Winterthur / Uster or Affoltern. There was plenty of availability next week in Affoltern am Albis. Very straight forward & no hassles.

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

I am Swiss but live in the UK. Had my booster 3 weeks ago.
The booster vaccine is recommended in order to give longer-lasting protection against coronavirus. A recent study from Imperial College London suggests that protection from vaccines starts to reduce three months after vaccination. Pfizer's own data shows that booster shots can restore their vaccine's efficacy to 95%. So I believe it is worth having. We have to learn to live with this virus.

Interesting! I'm wondering whether more big employers will be able to offer boosters, like they do flu vaccinations.

I assume you're under 65 and not a health service provider?

Re: Had a third 'booster' jab yet ?

Hmmm... My husband didn't receive anything yet despite being in group E (high risk).

LOL. He received it while I was wrighting this message. But the server is overloaded, as it always happens when some slots are opened in ZH.

Upd: Affoltern seems to be the only available location around Zurich so far.
