| | A-Levels in Geneva?
Hi, I'm a 17-year-old student who is currently in her 3rd year of the Swiss Maturité system. I'm desperate to change to A-Levels, but i have to stay within Geneva. Any schools you could advise? The school year has already started, which makes things complicated, but I can't take another day doing the Matu. Please help me, PLEASE!!

Same question, but a few years later, where can you do A-Levels in Geneva or within daily or weekly commuting for Geneva?
I am aware of Geneva Secondary School, so far but they do not do Chemistry or Physics until 2012.
Can anyone help?

You can do some A-levels via distance learning. And I've definitely heard adverts on the radio for A-levels in Geneva. But anything requiring lab time? I think you'll have to wait a year...

You can take your A-levels in several private schools in Geneva, but it's very expensive.

The one in Geneve that has A-levels is British School of Geneva, I believe the former name was Geneva Secondary School. There is also Brillantmont School in Lausanne, and I believe St. Georges in Vevey area. Lausanne would definitely be in commuting distance in my opinion.
Those are the ones that come to mind, but please check the directory of private schools, as noted in the 'sticky' at the top of the page.

They're the exams you take in the UK when you're 18, sort of the British equivalent to the baccalaureate.

In the UK students only do 2 years for 'A'Levels'. They take 4 subjects only for year 12, called AS Levels, then only 3 for the A'Levels in Year 13. The choice for A' Levels is much wider - including music, drama, Physical Education, IT, psychology, media studies, sociology, etc- as well as the usual academic subjects.
Just noticed Night_mia posted this in 2008! If you are still around- tell us how you got on and what you are doing now.

Sorry, my explanation was indeed a bit quick and dirty.
