Electrolysis / Hair removal

Strange question....does anyone know of any electrolysis centres in Zurich?
A friend of mine living in Zurich can't seem to find anyone who performs electrolysis hair removal.
Can someone suggest a place that does laser hair removal?

Since the invention of laser hair removal I don't think anyone does electrolysis anymore (correct me if I'm wrong). It's too (painfully) slow as you only treat one hair at a time.

I haven't personally used this. To read how electrolysis hair removal works was too much information!

Re: Electrolysis

Please people! Sometimes only a dozen hairs are unwanted and need to be removed. Laser does NOT work unless the hair is dark. Is it really true in this country where people spend so much on beauty that electrolysis is unavailable? I'm looking for something in the Basel area.

Re: Electrolysis / Hair removal

The laser hair removal clinic in Geneva did this at least a few years ago when WRS (back then WRG) advertised it on the radio...

Their name was/is Forever Laser or something like this.

Re: Electrolysis / Hair removal

I have brown hair, and electorlysis works much better than laser for me. Actually laser caused even some of my hair to get stronger (that was not previously treated hair).

And electrolysis I did was quite less painful than laser, though laser was Nd:yag which is known to be painful. Anyways, EMLA helps a lot for both.

As far as I know electrolysis is also the only method certified to be the permenent hair removal.

Re: Electrolysis / Hair removal

There is a thread by E_E, she does it close to Zurich.

Some other places in Zurich:

http://www.jeanninekosmetik.ch/behan...ung/apilus.htm
http://www.elsaesserzuerich.ch/
www.kosmetik4me.ch (uses platinum)
http://www.donnabeauty.ch/angebot/apilus-platinum.html (platinum)

and Coiffine Oerlikon used to have, not sure if they still have.

I prefer platinum but it is also more expensive. I usually do mine in Turkey (1fr/min vs 6 here if I remember correctly).

You are welcome. They usually don't want to tell you that, they say it depends on your hair, but is also important what their speed is. Not everyone is same quick. I was in Turkey getting some 700/hour, and I remember reading before that a skilled professional should do 600-900/hour.

I would be interested to know too. Have been thinking since long but the price is a deterrent. Would Germany be an option ?
Thanks !

Did you try this ? http://kivey.com/de/kiveyepifaceanwe.html
It doesn't hurt, removes the hair at its root, costs 40 fr. (made in Israel)
sold in pharmacies here in Switzerland (or have it ordered )

Thanks for the info. I bought one of these at the weekend and really like it. Removes the hair easily and doesn't hurt

Hi folks
Bumping up this thread.
Laser has proved pretty useless for me and I desperately need a permanent solution.
Any reviews on the recommendations above ?

Thanks
Tintin

I did my legs, underarms and some from face in Turkey. All gone in underarms and some isolated ones left on legs, I believe they will be done in 1 to 2 sessions. Overall I had more than ten sessions so far, but I was very happy with the person who did it. The ideal is to have the sessions when hair is in growing phase, but I could not do that. I did approx. 3 sessions a year and am almost done now. As I was doing large areas some of my initial sessions were 5 to 6 hours long.

I did try a number of people and machines and believe that it is important who and which machine you use. The amount of pain and success rate depend vastly on the machine and the person doing it. Also the thickness of the needle is important. It should be suited to the size of the pore. If it is too thick you may get scars. If it is too thin it may not be efficient enough.

Most of the specialists do not prefer to use the thinner needles as it is more difficult to operate with them. They are difficult to see and bend easily.

You may send me a pm if you need more info.

Re: Electrolysis / Hair removal

Naturally, as a cycling metrosexual, I like it smooth everywhere.

As to the how: I prefer the old-school technique.
