My wife and I recently expanded our family with an adoption. We would now like to setup some legal framework around our last will and testaments and living wills. Does anyone have any advice on how this works in Switzerland and have you come across any reasonably priced legal counsel to help set up this type documentation?

Swiss law has strict rules on inheritance. Hence, it is not necessary to write a will, unless you wish to modify the standard partitioning. That is 50% for the surviving spouse and 50% for progeny.

No inheritor can be reduced below half their entitlement. For example, surviving spouse must get minimum 25%.

However, if neither you nor your spouse nor heirs are Swiss citizens, you can invoke 'Heimatrecht' and have the will executed under the laws of your home country.

Which is what my husband and I have done. Thus, the Swiss inheritance law - and mandatory inheritance - does not apply.
