Shy query to any French speaking families, living in the French part of Switzerland.

Dear French speaking families in the Forum,

for part of my eldest daughters school curriculum this year, she has to do an, away from home, foreign language immersion experience.
I'm sorry for that odd and wordy description, but in German it's just one word (Fremdsprachaufenthalt), which doesn't exist in English and that was the best way I could think to explain myself, as my French doesn't begin to cope.

Basically, it is to give them a chance to improve the foreign language of their choice.

What I want to ask is, if there is a French speaking family on here, who would consider taking my 17 year old under their wing for two full weeks, including the weekend, for the Autumn holidays.

For us the holidays begin on the 26.09.2009 - 18.10.2009.

So, if you have children (she loves kids) and wouldn't mind speaking only French to her (of course she does speak English which may be useful to have as well), having an extra pair of hands helping with the cooking and other household duties, as well as child minding, from a bright, easy going, happy, yet responsible and conscientious, tidy young lass, then perhaps you could send me a private message and we could talk further about arrangements, costs ( I will of course contribute to the food and any extras kitty), etcetera.

Just to add, the family would only be required to write a statement to confirm where and when with a signature. Nothing else special is necessary and should they occur, any mishaps or sickness will be covered through our insurance.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and if I have forgotten to add something relevant, please,,, just do ask.

Looking forward to hearing from any potentially interested Families,

best regards,

Ros

Re: Shy query to any French speaking families, living in the French part of Switzerla

Hello again,

I realise it's a long shot on here for such a request, as well, a lot of people will be going on holiday at this same time, still, one can only ask.
I did have another thought though, perhaps someone on here knows of a family that may be open to the idea?
If yes, perhaps you could ask them if they would be interested...?

I/we would be truly glad to hear of any opportunities at all.

Many thanks and a happy Easter to all,

Ros
