It is unwise to dismiss head injuries resulting from several bouts of frantic female boxing as mere "migraines", Miss Sada. See your doctor and your psychiatrist to make sure no serious damage to your brain has occurred.
but ... but ... I haven't been boxing around Rusty, I promise ... I was only doing Pilates exercices

Your stuttering and blushing are indications that you may not be telling the entire truth. Who were you "exercising" with and were you wearing protective headgear?

Maybe you should switch to the "other" type of physical activity. Will at least get your mind of it... or just plain get off.

My migraines stopped when I was in my early fifties. So there is, after all, something to be said for getting older.

It compensates for not having grown up as a member of the ‘three showers a day’ or the ‘two showers a day’, or the ‘one shower a day’, or ‘hot water on tap’, or even the ‘house with bathroom’ generation. It was ‘one cold tap in the kitchen, fetch the water from the well to rinse your hair, and don’t wash it often as, with heating only in one room and long before the advent of hand hairdryers (not much electricity either) you’ll never get it dry’.
The good old days: Right!! We don`t have to watch Survivour we di`d it

sorry to hear about your migraines. this is very sound advice though, keeping track of one's daily activities, esp for any other difficult-to-diagnose ailments like insomnia, allergies...

I do get mild migraine attacks a bit on the frequent side every year....I have a cup of coke or have some lemon(some indian lemon pickles are best)....it helps.....on the onset of the attack I try to avoid spicy/spicy smelling food.....

Re: Migraines - may they be cursed forever ! ! !

I've also had migraines since I was a teenager. Classic migraines with spectra fortification aura, etc. Very painful. Imitrex did the best for me. But stress, chocolate etc. would bring them on for me. Unfortunately people are different and what works for one may not for another.

When I was 42 I had a small stroke and was flown to CH where I checked into Insel Spital in Bern. After some checks voila, I had a hole between chambers in my heart. A good friend with migraines in Bern had her hole in her heart fixed only to get rid of migraines. They do this procedure in Bern often. A catheter goes in the artery in your thigh, right up to your heart. I was awake for the whole procedure. Only have 1-2 very mild migraines now per year instead of 12 killer ones.

Ask you doctor about having a Trans Esophogul Ecocardiogram, or TEE done. They put an ultrasound down your throat. Yeah, its gross. But they know in seconds. If you have the hole and its undetected you have a much greater chance of a stroke after 40. Think about it, and email me with any questions.

If you are into plant based medicine (not homeopathic, but using medicine with high concentrations), there is one plant you can take that scientific trials show has a preventive action on migraines.

If you are interested, then I will post more info.
Hi Muze7. Please post the info you mentioned as I suffer from fairly frequent migraines. I was given immigran last year for them, but although this mostly works, they do knock me out for a while. Also used Migraleve from the UK, but they aren't always strong enough. I get the sickness, sometimes vomiting, and extreme light and sound sensitivity. Lack of sleep can trigger them, not drinking enough (water that is!), some foods (e.g. chocolate), stress and not quite sure, but strong sunlight seems to as well. Have suffered from them since I was 13 approx. Trick is not to leave taking medication too late, as then it's extremely difficult to get rid of them.

Re: Migraines - may they be cursed forever ! ! !

Late 20's I started getting painful headaches at the most random occasions (like even when I felt rested or not stressed) and I was so afraid it'd be a symptom to something really horrible (like the Big C ) so I avoided getting a check-up...

Finally when I got the courage to consult with a doctor, I was amazed that he actually pinned it down as a symptom of TMJ which is a dental problem rather than anything to do with my brain or sinuses or whatever

Apparently my teeth weren't positioned properly so my jaw was compensating and putting pressure on my skull somehow. They removed some molars as a fix (although ideally I should've also gotten some braces) and presto, the headaches did stop

Re: Migraines - may they be cursed forever ! ! !

I dearly hope nobody caught a migraine from today's posts on EF !!

I was wondering, has anyone tried Bidor 5% from Weleda, known as Biodoron in Switzerland ?

I am going to tried it. Weleda has many good & efficient products so why not give it a try.

Thats exactly what my wife has recently been diagnosed with. The hole in the chamber thing and she suffers from Migraines.
Sometimes takes Immigran or Migraleave.

I'll show her this thread later.

I get all the symptoms of a migraine minus the pain. Only started a few years ag. Weird.
