Thats exactly what my wife has recently been diagnosed with. The hole in the chamber thing and she suffers from Migraines.
Sometimes takes Immigran or Migraleave.

I'll show her this thread later.

I get all the symptoms of a migraine minus the pain. Only started a few years ag. Weird.

blimey! sounds extreme?

I think i may have mentioned this earlier in the thread but i was put on a 6 month course of beta blockers last year to combat mine - they have certainly reduced in quantity since i came off the beta blockers - however i do still get the odd one - but nothing as bad as 3 a month i was getting

It should be noted that when Miss Sada mentions "multiple orgasms" it only means that she works in/with a team.

Kidding aside(I think) it is proven that orgasms can help bring on sleep.

In my opinion many migraines are brought on by an inner battle which creates a very high tension. This can be relieved.

Re: Migraines - may they be cursed forever ! ! !

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I was also 42 when I had a small stroke (TIA) after having my leg in plaster. Same procedures were carried out and I now only have a couple of mild ones a year now instead of the 2 or 3 horrors per month I had previously. It's well worth getting checked out as it has changed my life completely. It's more common than you think to have a hole in the heart.

I've also had migraines since I was a teenager. Classic migraines with spectra fortification aura, etc. Very painful. Imitrex did the best for me. But stress, chocolate etc. would bring them on for me. Unfortunately people are different and what works for one may not for another.

When I was 42 I had a small stroke and was flown to CH where I checked into Insel Spital in Bern. After some checks voila, I had a hole between chambers in my heart. A good friend with migraines in Bern had her hole in her heart fixed only to get rid of migraines. They do this procedure in Bern often. A catheter goes in the artery in your thigh, right up to your heart. I was awake for the whole procedure. Only have 1-2 very mild migraines now per year instead of 12 killer ones.

Ask you doctor about having a Trans Esophogul Ecocardiogram, or TEE done. They put an ultrasound down your throat. Yeah, its gross. But they know in seconds. If you have the hole and its undetected you have a much greater chance of a stroke after 40. Think about it, and email me with any questions.

Re: Migraines - may they be cursed forever ! ! !

I'd been using Imigran for over 10 years but over time the side effects were getting worse and it took one or two days after the migraine to recover (with a 3 day migraine that's a lot of wasted time). I changed to Almogran last year and they are a lot better - they take the pain away and there are no lasting after effects so once the migraine is over you are more or less back to normal. Some people swear by Zomig but you have to find the one to suit you. I went on Beta blockers too at one stage but they actually made them more frequent. Keeping a food diary is a good idea - I discovered chocolate is not a major trigger for me!

Re: Migraines - may they be cursed forever ! ! !

My migraines don't come with a headache at all! I don't get them any longer but it used to be about once a quarter. A pitch black room, bed and complete silence was the only cure.

yes that's the thing with these side effects of certain products. it kind of prolongs the whole misery doesn't it.

I never took anything. usually an attack lasts 24 hours, rarely 48 >> true horror.
the next day or two I need to recover a bit because of exhaustion, to throw up for hours and hours on end is really bloody exhausting,
and the whole thing is over and forgotten afterwards.

I find the side effects with immigran are just within the first hour of taking them. I generally have to go to bed and sleep as I feel like my head's going to explode but when i wake up i find that 9 times out of 10 its worked and I am migraine free - generally they do not come back after taking just one immigran but I took my last one on Monday night, it relieved it for about 4 hours and then came back again (awaiting prescription in the post for more)

However I have never heard of the other drugs you mention, it took me long enough to find out about immigran - I'll ask my doc next time I go, thanks for the info

I don't think that would stop "Dr" Graben's incessant pseudo-psychoanalysis — and he'd probably enjoy it anyway.

I did a speech a few months ago about the side effects of medications. It really is scary. Do a little research on the web about side effects and medications and you will be quite surprised. Often the side effects make people more sick than they really are.

You say the whole things is forgotten and done with. but is it really. You still continue to have migraines.

You can learn how to deal with your migraines

I do not enjoy human suffering, Mr Texaner, neither do I derive any pleasure when seeing emotional reactions to almost year-old postings.

You are welcome any time in my office, but until tort reform is included in the healthcare bill you will have to sign the waiver form.
