URGENT: Dentist near Basel (French side)

I have a filling which has come loose and needs to be replaced. Can anyone recommend a dentist on the French side of the border who might be able to see me between now and the end of the month (when my French mutuelle coverage expires?)

I have seen some recommendations for dentists on the Swiss side of the border, but they won't be covered by my mutuelle, and therefore will be $$$!

Many thanks in advance

The dental practice we use is in Durmenach, near Ferrette, Tel. No. 03 89 25 89 88, Dr Blenk and Dr Malblanc. We've used them for 18 years and been satisfied.

Re: URGENT: Dentist near Basel (French side)

In the end, I went to a dental practice in Huningue that was recommended by a collegue (on rue de Village-Neuf). It took ten minutes to get there on the bus, and I suspect it saved me hundreds of CHFs. The practice was clean and modern, the staff very friendly (although the dentists speak no English, if that is important to you...)

In case anyone is interested, a full set of xrays cost me EUR28, and a resin filling was EUR48. I asked about preventative care: a check-up and cleaning was EUR50.

A lot cheaper than getting the work done on the Swiss side of the border!

I found a recommendation on the Forum for Dr Toma Gruionu Sever in Guebwiller (not far from Mulhouse). I have seen him twice now and taken the children too and am happy with the dental care we have received. He does not speak English - "only" French, German and Roumanian.

Would you please tell me who and where was the dentist you went?

By the way, I actually want to find a dental hygienist to have a teeth cleaning. Please give me suggestions if you have. Thank you!

Just over the border, the prices are cheaper than CH, but they do get a lot of Swiss and price accordingly. The locals complain in fact that the Swiss are pushing the prices up for them.

Does the 298 include a clean? From what I can see, they want you to visit the hygienist first before any work.

To get real French/German prices, you need to go further.
