Inter Community School of Zurich/Zurich International School

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of either of these schools? They look like a good ones, but would love to hear from you if you have anything to offer in the way of advice!

Hi there! I just had the same dilemma - moving next month with 6 year old in tow - looked round both and liked both. Went with Inter Community School on a gut feeling in the end. Good luck!

Well I've decided to take the plunge and accept a job offer in Zurich. The offer includes paying for my children's education. Could anyone let me have their thoughts on the standard of the International School Zurich and any advice that can be offered regarding relocating my children. They are girls aged 11 and 13.

I have worked at International schools and I think that we do a great job at educating your children.

The SIS school at the Seestr. 271 in Zürich is great!

The ICS in Zumikon is also brilliant.

You are one of the lucky ones who's boss was nice enough to pay for this, you lucky ex-pat you (I'm jealous!!)

If you are considering Zurich International then you would need to act quick. Many of the grades are already full and have waiting lists.

Since my original post I can say I now have first hand knowledge of ZIS, as my kids have just finished their first year there. It has been a hugely successful year and I am completely satisfied with the school. I would recommend it with confidence.

No, the SIS is not great at all. I have several friends, that took their children out. An other friend, which has her girls in Zumikon is very happy there. The management is much better and the teachers don't walk away all the time!!
The difference is as well, that they have mainly english-speaking children (at the sis, more than 60% are native german speakers) and that they have the international bac. In Zumikon, they have the american holidays/vacation and at all the other privat-schools, its swiss holidays/vacation.
If you want your children to learn german , the Intercomunity-School is not the best idea though. You could try a bilingual-school, like Lakeside, Terra Nova, LIP etcetc.

Look person whomever you are. I understand that you may have some parents who are not happy out of the THOUSANDS of others who are! You may state your experience as I stated mine but you'll be damned if you dare quote me and then have the guts to tell me that I am wrong and whatever else your no good reply says. We do teach both english and german, so you better get your facts straight.
