I would like to place an order for a number of over-the-counter medicines from the UK, where they are significantly cheaper than they are here in Switzerland. Cough medicine, painkillers, antihistimines, vitamins, that sort of thing.

Aside from having to pay duty on the parcel (plus the CHF18- handling fee that the Post Office will charge for the pleasure), will I have any problems importing these?

TBH no idea - I'm sure someone else will know. My gut reaction is yes, as medicines and grey imports are things governments don't like (unless it is to their benefit ).

If it is, don't forget that postal place over the border in D if needed (PM me if you need the details).

yes swissmedic that customs relate to state only 1 months supply can be brought in.

I ordered some OTC medicine online and all went through without problem. One package (with antihistamines) was open for inspection, but still went through.

And no customs to pay if the value is below 65CHF.

I've ordered vitamins from the US, no problem. I also have one prescription drug that I get from the US, again, no problem. I think it needs to be marked for personal use. I've not paid duty on any of them.
