| | Orthopedic surgeon in Geneva area?
Does anybody know a good orthopedic surgeon in the Geneva to Lausanne area? Somebody who's specializing in orthroscopic knee surgery would be best.

I have been told that Dr Alain Tamisier who works in Sion is very good. Recommended by a ski teacher with knee problems. Apparently the doctor has been fixing knees of hokey players. http://www.doctorfmh.ch/f31/zp=1950&...sche_Chirurgie
Does anyone have new knowledge of any exceptionally good orthopaedic surgeon in Zurich area (incl Zurich)

Hi, I was examined by Dr Preiss at Schulthess Klinik. Very happy with the service, attention, the clinic. And, i was advised against the operation I was told I had to go through by another doctor earlier!

He is extremely competent and très, très sympa. I broke my foot last October, and I received excellent care from him.

So thank you for the info. I may see him.
Some doctors are quite compassionate. Is he one of those types?

He seemed to be a nice person, my age (49), speaks fluent English and I felt comfortable (not rushing to finish etc). Compassionate? I can't say after spending 30 minutes with him. In any case, it was much better than most of my previous medical experience(s) in the Geneva area.

His English must be good as he has spent quite some time on training in the USA.
So he concluded that you do not need a surgery in 30 min, or did he do other tests? DId you have problems with your ACL or meniscus (sorry you may have mentioned it), and how is it now. What did he suggest to alleviate your problems?

Do any of the orthopods accept US-based BlueCross? I don't mind filng the paperwork myself. BlueCross lists many doctors in Geneva, but the only orthopod is a hand sugeon.
Thanks,
joe
