Re: BROWN and YELLOW teeth from toothpastes

HOWEVER, if you have acute gingivitis...Meridol or Chlorihexidene (Curasept 2.0) is recommended, combined with a professional cleaning...ONLY these really stain the teeth....but kill the bacteria...SOMETIMES, antibiotics must be prescribed...

I prefer to start simple first...
Meridol has Chlorhexidine? I haven't read the label lately. I tried all the Meridol products and never liked the taste. Plus the one for ''stinky mouth'' didn't work for me .
I am still using the Orange Elmex and the purple Elmex mouthwash.

Oh and I despise Chlorhexidine! Few years ago I bought a toothpaste that had this inside and after a few days of using it, my mouth tasted like....excuse me now...like cr@p,literally! Then my taste changed, my mouth was dry and irritated and had discolorations on my teeth and they looked ugly. I then used it on and off and see if I have the same reactions. So, in the end, I put the toothpaste in the bin and bought the Elmex.
I tried soooo many toothpastes along the years and since I have been living here I have been using just Elmex toothpaste and mouthwash.
I avoid everything with Chlorhexidine.
I do get bored of the Elmex taste! It is not menthol...it is kind of boring soooo I use Aronal in the morning and Elmex in the evening.
I always have a Colgate in my bathroom cabinet and if I can't stand the Elmex (sometimes my body doesn't like certain smells or tastes) , then I use the Colgate.
I also use Parodontax when I go to my home country. I do not have gums problems but I kind of like the taste (salty in the first few days) and it leaves my teeth so clean even with the manual handbrush. I haven't seen it here yet or mabye I didn't pay attention as I just go straight to the Elmex. For the past 3 yrs I have been using Oral B electrical brush.

EDIT: Now I see there is a special Meridol - Meridol Perio.
