I have created this profile for the purpose of anonymity as I am an EF member and am trying to show as much discretion as possible. I hope the forum admins understand.
I am a non EU married to an EU. We lived together in Switzerland for the last six years. We have no children together, but I have a child from a previous relationship. We rent homes both in my home country and in Switzerland. We only own cars and furniture as personal property.
I have decided to separate from my husband and have returned to my family and homeland. As the situation has become clearer, I feel there is no alternative to divorce as he refuses to consider counseling. At the time of our separation, he had opened new bank accounts and was moving money from our joint account into his own personal accounts. I have no access to any of our finances.
I am interested to know what lawyers charge roughly for their time in Switzerland. I believe my family will be able to help me pay legal fees as they have been silently hoping for this day for some time. As I have returned home, I need a lawyer who will work with me via phone or skype in English if possible, and practices in Kanton Solothurn. And most importantly, I need someone who is not starry-eyed when it comes to professional sports and athletes as sport is what brought us to Switzerland and many Swiss are extremely accommodating to him as his sport is revered in CH. He's well known on a national level and throughout CH, as we've moved from team to team and Canton to Kanton like most sports families do.
My husband is a handsome, charming, charismatic man, but is dogged and aggressive when it comes to negotiations. I generally tend to bend to his will on every issue as he can be oppressive when I disagree with him. I would prefer a lawyer who is sharp and negotiates well without getting bullied. I would say it's just me, but I've witnessed his contract negotiations and he always seems to get exactly what he wants. I fear that I may end up starting over in life with no more than the shoe on my feet.
Any recommendations or advice would be humbly appreciated...
