| | Pop or not to pop, that is the blistering question
So, pop or not to pop? I'd make it a vote but..
The pop or not to pop decision will be made at 9:30pm when a photo of post-pop will be made or I post another photo when something interesting happens (likely it will dry up and tear)

The whole reason the blister is there is to protect damaged tissue underneath! If you pop it, you are defeating your own natural defenses! (Well, at least that's what my mother always said) | The following 3 users would like to thank Peg A for this useful post:

Lonely... with more kids than I can carry, one currently falling asleep on my back, and a beautiful wife. No.
Funny about this loneliness thing, some people at work, colleagues, stated that I will know about Switzerland in about a year when I 'realize that I have not made any friends'. I look at him and the rest of the team and said 'I have enough friends, I'll be fine' and 'I cannot handle the time commitment/requirement that comes with a Swiss friendship'. Interestingly, as you would project from the colleagues statement, he is trying to engage in friendship type activities. Perhaps he likes men..
Pop or not to pop!! Hmm child one is asleep, time for number two.

Kiwi wuss! | | | | | Hey, this is a big thing for me. My hands hardly do anything that should cause such violent defense actions that sees my skin layers separate and then fill with liquid! Normal tasks involve pushing a mouse around.
The cause of this topic was a frontal attack to a hedge with pruners.

CK | | | | | Nice thoughts about loneliness. Something I am very confortable with.
To come back to your blister, I'll suggest you take a desinfected needle and do 2 littles holes in the blister, enough to let the liquid goes out. It will dry much faster and will not exposed you skin underneath. | This user would like to thank Nil for this useful post:

You know you're gonna pop it. It keeps calling to you, begging you to stick the needle in. You can't ignore it forever.

Kiwi wuss! | | | | | Ha Ha !!!
Yeah, it's not a very big blister..... but it is RIGHT on the tip of your finger where there are stacks of nerve endings.
Ha Ha...Go on.... POP IT !!! ..... I dare you.
(I also want to read your posts updating us on your new world of pain and how you regret popping it)
Seriously, leave it alone. It may feel like it will be better, but it really sux if you give into temptation.

o.k. so, I: DO NOT POP
I expect the upper layer of skin will dry and then tear. Any liquid that might be left will exit. Anyway, it is wait and see. I'll post a photo sometime in the next few days.

You should listen to Angela, she's a doctor. On the other hand, most of us are just sadistic crackpots, who are telling you what you want to hear.
What did you do, anyway?

As 90% of the time when I have a blister the process that created it tears the thing off anyway I say pop it!

Because.... my hands softer that my daughters bum.

POP IT!!
And no, I am not being sadistic. I had a blister, similar looking to yours a couple of weeks back, left it alone and forgot about it.
It has now hardened into sort of a callus - not sure what it is exactly because AFAIK, calluses are not formed from blisters. Sort of bump-like now and I cant stop picking at it, to no avail. |

I'd pop it, medical and sensible advice notwithstanding.
