Re: Babysitter / daycare needed, Basel

Hi all, this is really a message for Florence. I have just moved into St Louis and was wondering if you still have places in your childcare as I was looking for a couple of mornings for my 22 month old daughter. Could you let me know how I can get more information?
Cheers
Lorraine

Re: Babysitter / daycare needed, Basel

Hi

Are there any Moms & Toddlers playgroups in the Basel area? I will be a stay at home mom, but would like to take our two year old to a playgroup if there are any where I can meet other moms and he can make friends. I would happily send him to a german kindergarten for the interaction, but I don't speak German yet and am worried about communication problems with the staff.

Re: Babysitter / daycare needed, Basel

Hi,

Just replied to a similar topic on another forum.

The following websites have details of Kinderkrippe and other childcare options:

http://www.kinderkrippen-online.ch/krippenbs.htm

http://www.baslerfrauenverein.ch/index.php?PageId=20

http://www.kissnordwestschweiz.ch/

http://kinderbetreuung.liliput.ch/

http://www.ed-bs.ch/jfs/jfa/tagesbetreuung/

We use Kinderkrippe Eva 3-days / week - cost is around the SFr100 /
day mark - my impression is this is at the low end of the scale. Link
to details on the education dept. website:

http://www.ed-bs.ch/jfs/jfa/tagesbet...nderkrippe-eva

They have a few different groups according to age - and they do a lot in the way of "structured" activities with the kids.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Nick

Re: Babysitter / daycare needed, Basel

Just to let you know, Kindergrippe Eva are expanding and now have places available from the end of the year. We went to see them a few weeks ago as we will need daycare for our baby from early next year and we were both really impressed with the staff and the facilities.
