Hello,

I was looking for some information when I found this article about Christine Applegate's pregnancy.

It made me laugh thinking how true it is for me too. You feel a bit like someone took over your body and act in such a different way of what you usually do. I have a short temper, but now? I am an atomic bomb on feet. I became a bitch!

My husband is confused....
Pregnant women are so cute, they glow! You are so Wrong!

They are mean, angry and hungry. They have an hangover every morning without having a drop of alcohol in ages. They eat weird things like hotdogs at 10h in the morning.

The myth of women who never passed air is destroyed for ever when your wife becomes pregnant.

Because they FART! A lot!

Any experiences you want to share?

I am not going to bite you.......... for now

awww this make me smile, now i have 3 months and already lose like 7 kilos for the vomiting (nice in my case because am overweight)
but ufff after this trimester is finish is comming the nice one, after that the last one is comming also ugly part , for me in my first pregnancy since i was 7 month i couldnt sleep (back hurts, cant breath , and i cant move my hands ...) and you will start to get desesperate to put that cute alien out from you )

Well my wife gave birth to our baby one month ago. Since she has a really passionated and spirited temper anyway, it wasn't really a change for me. What I learnt though as a man: There are some situation not saying a word is the only right thing to do. I kind of learned the hard way.

The nightmares...

They are hitting me full speed now. Usually someone dies or Hubby cheats (the b*stard). I wake up and give him shit.

You could probably make a killing giving a class on that.

i felt pretty fine my whole pregnancy, no moodiness, no nastiness- luckily i felt very healthy and energetic.

but, i realized i couldn't realize think- i couldn't really hold a conversation- my mind just constantly wondered, unless people were talking about baby things and then i could focus for a bit...

and all i wanted was fish, watermelon and hothothot chillies, all the time.

strangely enough, my son's favorite food is still to this day watermelon and fish, and hot, spicy things...
OMG. I was once mid conversation with a new neighbor and I had to stop talking and ask her what we were talking about and what her name was... worse yet, I stopped mid sentance- my sentance! I think the pg brain relieved itself after year 3 of each child. Good luck.

Yup... love those dreams. For as rough as pregnancy is and as much trouble as I had (both were early and hypertensive with both) I LOVED everyminute of it. Really. You get to eat and do stupid things and people just smile at you and console you. No bad thoughts about lack of intelligence or that I may possibly be eating more then I should. Nope, it's all encouraged! It is a really special time. And I had relitively easy births with both (only needed pitocin due to no contractions, but never needed an epidural), so I wouldn't mind doing it again.

No... Should I?

Pregnancy: It sucks!

Here you go, I said the truth out loud! Thank Goodness an amazing little creature comes out of it, because the whole thing= not a fan.

I wasn't having fun the first time, I am not having more fun this time around. I hate to see my body changing, lack of energy, the evil hormones are giving me no slack. I feel ugly, fat, handicaped, etc.

The only best thing ever about pregnancy: When the baby moves! This is worthed the whole pregnancy pain thing. It is absolutely fantastic.

You have this special connection with the baby, he feels you, you feel him. I spend the whole pregnancy with my hands on my belly, feeling, patting...

There is nothing as beautiful as an expecting lady, you just do not see yourself.

Or as a lovely ol'grandma told me all those years ago:
Oh jeune dame, vous êtes en espérance

Re: The Pregnant monster

How can you be feeling fat and handicapped when you're still in first trimester?

Pregnancy is a gift that comes very easy for some. Cherish it

For me, these 9 months are nothing compared to the many years to get here

Re: The Pregnant monster

Mais non Nil, I am too old now for all that !!
I'm just remembering all those years ago.

In fact I have deep admiration for any woman who has the physical strength and stamina to have babies after the age of forty.
Many do, I spent the whole pregnancy quite ill. That was fine in my 20s, but now ?

Hats off to these lovely ladies who can and do.

Re: The Pregnant monster

One thing I find pretty annoying, is people who assume you act or think a certain way that it is because of the hormones.

Yes it is, but give us a break, not everything we do, think or wish are from our hormones.

It is pretty insulting from others who always put the hormones up your nose.

Being hormonal, I can assume this very well. Being sad and feel disgusted by stupid comments about other cultures and religions has nothing to do with my hormones.

People think they are very funny when they put on hormones some frustration and anger about a subject. I find it quite lame and little mind to assume it is just all about that.

Well, they might not know you, the only fact they noticed is the Nil's pregnancy thing, which is huge (and cute). So I wouldn't worry about them, you may be taking comments too much to your heart. Being passionate is one thing, commenting on every little thing that moves here is another, some maybe they are being polite when they say it's the preggo mode and don't mean to be condescending. But don't worry, most frequent posters are hooked here, every now and then, before it wears off, or before one gets a decent network of friends or get more mobile, etc.

Look at my date of registration. I am not what we could call a newbie. I have been here longer non-pregnant than pregnant. And if you go back, you'll see how annoying I get to be called terrorist. Today is just an other exemple of this, homones non-included.

And beside, since when people here are enough polite to not be condescending?
