What's crazy with pregnancy is that they are never the same...

For my son (now 4), I was nauseous in my third trimester, with a lot of weird cravings and disgusts.

But now, I'm in my third trimester again, and I feel just awful....

I throw up, with painful dry heavings when my tummy is empty. I have to take pils (B6 and Primperan) to be able to function, and this is so nightmarish....

Well, some research show that the sicker you are, the less likely you are to miscarry... Fingercrossed...
It's very unlikely to misscarry so late, 3rd trimester your baby is basically just getting cute and fat, so relax. Good luck with the gestation!

I had some tea, what was it, Ginger and Lime by Twinning, very good for nausea. And a temple balm, it was very lemony, I forgot the name but Lush sells it...Ok, found it, called "Whoosh". But I was nauseated till the end, the last week was ok

Re: The Pregnant monster

The pregnant monster here is now a weak little kitten hidden in the bed.

I am sick like hell. Stupid Flu and stupid parents sending their kids sick to kindergrup.

Fever, shivers, pain, coughing.... I am now on antibiotics and I hate it. It is stressing me like crazy because of all the stuff they say about meds and preggos not being a good match...

Re: The Pregnant monster

High fever early on can affect the neural development, make sure you keep the fever down, 1st trimester is so fragile.. ATBs suck at pregnancy, too. But they might have given you something ok, medicine these days is so quick. Good luck, virus in pregnancy is not banal at all.

It's not fun but I would avoid groups with kids for a while, take your child to park instead, avoid enclosed little rooms. I also avoided hosp waiting rooms, public transport in peak hours, etc. I had to be careful, since our 1st child didn't make it to term due to my severe infection in 1st trim.

I got my fever under control, it was low fever didn't passed the 39. I have mainly kids antibiotics. And yet the flu is again a bronchitis.

I feel better but yesterday I think was the worst day ever. Being sick while pregnant is worst than a man's flu.

My pregnancy brain (or absence of ) is working again: I mean I'm in my FIRST trimester, is around 7 weeks. Gosh, 32 more weeks without brain cells

All the talk about men having pregnancy envy..
..no freaking way, Slammer is quite happy to let you females have all the fun for yourself.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for all you girls on the forum, but hey seriously, reading through the posts about all your little belly-bursters makes me think of "aliens, the revenge of."
It is amazing why there are so many of us monkeys on this rock if you have to go through all this every time.

Re: The Pregnant monster

Hahaha, yes... I remember once I had my little one and my sister was still pregnant, her husband asked me "When does the pregnancy brain end?" I told him that it doesn't, it just turns into baby brain! I feel like I had SUCH a good pregnancy. I never had much morning sickness. But I drove the husband crazy by making him take me to Santa Lucia EVERY night with caprese and pesto cravings for the 2-4th month. THEN I could only eat a few bites and he would not understand how I was SO hungry and then couldn't eat very much... haha. I would like to say that I wasn't *TOO* hormonal, however ask the husband and he disagrees. Although we know how dramatic husbands can be As for the gas.... I plead the fifth. But heartburn was HORRIBLE and not to mention the sciatic pain.... Luckily with your first one you can sleep as much as you want (If you are working for your understanding Dad!) Now I don't know how I would cope! I better get on number two before my toddler quits taking naps!

I would like to add that it is so worth it! I just love those little times where you feel amazing, not to mention everyone (MOSTLY) treats you nicely, offers to do everything for you while you go and lay down and offers you their seats on trams. I really do miss the times when she was ALL mine, and when you start feeling those little kicks, and then they get stronger and stronger until you can see them across your belly, THAT is alien-ish, but of course adorable. You can kind of let yourself whatever you want, and not to mention the first time you see their little face... ahhhh

I think we should make millions by inventing all kinds of medicine for pregnant/nursing mums!! Hope you are feeling better, and didn't pass it on to the little one

Re: The Pregnant monster

Take the pills. There is nothing wrong with having to take medication if it has been prescribed by your Dr. Things that got me through my morning sickness: I could not keep water down at all but I found that I could drink lemon flavoured Isostar if I just sipped it a very little at a time, this is what kept me hydrated & out of hospital. Eat what you want, healthy eating intentions need to be forgotten. If you feel like eating a Big Mac eat it, same goes for an apple. You will be more likely to keep down food even for a little while if you actually feel like eating it. Your cravings can work for you here. Don't worry about the baby, s/he will get all the nutrients they need from your body you will be the one who suffers not it so eat what you want whenever you want until you are over this.

The best foods for MS are carbs. Try grazing, eating a little very often to try to keep something in your stomach. If you throw up something you probably will not want to eat it again so get creative, try dry cereal, toast, biscuits anything to get some energy into you.

If you can try to get as much sleep as you, MS is incredibly tiring so you need rest. If you know what triggers you, for me it was often certain smells, try if at all possible to avoid them. Other things are impossible to avoid sometimes just moving was enough to set me off. Remember to not clean your teeth after throwing up, it will erode the enamal on your teeth even faster if you do. Just rinse.

Most of all remember MS does pass, for me it was when I gave birth but it was still all worth it even though it was hell on earth at the time.

Ohh the anti-vomiting pills, i just love them at the moment

But since I throw up the pill before having assimilated it most mornings, my doctor told me to take a suppository instead Oh well, another joy of pregnancy

Ah, the joy of planning the journey from one bustop with the trash can to another.

Don't worry, by 9mo is should be alrite.

It's good to keep a plastic bag in your pocket. I would be weary of the antinausea pills, would just take them in real despair. There is sumfin called motilium, for example, and it is a brain pill, that has an active agent called domperidone, it is a dopamine affecting agent I would certainly not feel safe with it during pregnancy (just like happy pills and co.) and I think it says so in the leaflet. However, my doc prescribed it to me, so I wouldn't trust all docs and their pharmaceutical knowledge..
