The Pregnant monster

Hello,

I was looking for some information when I found this article about Christine Applegate's pregnancy.

Quote:
And the actress admits she's also suffering unexpected mood swings: "The psychosis... you kind of go a little cuckoo. Yelling for no reason, it's almost out of body. You're stepping back from yourself and watching this insane monster in front of you that's you, and you want to stop her but she's funny to watch."
It made me laugh thinking how true it is for me too. You feel a bit like someone took over your body and act in such a different way of what you usually do. I have a short temper, but now? I am an atomic bomb on feet. I became a bitch!

My husband is confused....
Pregnant women are so cute, they glow! You are so Wrong!

They are mean, angry and hungry. They have an hangover every morning without having a drop of alcohol in ages. They eat weird things like hotdogs at 10h in the morning.

The myth of women who never passed air is destroyed for ever when your wife becomes pregnant.

Because they FART! A lot!

Any experiences you want to share?

I am not going to bite you.......... for now

Re: The Pregnant monster

Jello, I cried like a baby because I craved Jello and couldn't find any. It was a deep desperate need for... Jello.
Finally it was made for me, gatorade + dissolved gelatine, until a merciful shipment arrived with boxes of the stuff from the US.
nuts....

Then it was oranges..... kilos of them.... only oranges.

That and strange premonitory dreams, back-ache and morning sickness, morning, lunch and dinner and all night long for the total duration.

No real mood swings though, unless anybody looked at me sideways, then I'd burst into tears without the slightest reason

Re: The Pregnant monster

I can honestly say I have not experienced any of the above. In fact my husband announced to me last night that i was worse and more hormonal BEFORE pregnancy - I like to be a bit different

Hee hee! I love this!
this is all so true
I'm in my 6th month, still puking almost everyday, spending most days on the couch trying not to puke, starving all the time but terrified that what I eat will make me puke. This alone makes me a monster! Not to mention the rest, mood swings, waddling around full of gas. Ugh!

puking is a good sign when you're pregnant.
A friend of mine used to say that puking started already during conception

Re: The Pregnant monster

Nil I get you.... with dd I spent a lot of time being stupid happy or crying. With ds I was ANGRY, not angry in a cute hormonal way, no more like ANGRY like a homocidal maniac. I did scream and make a scene in a hardware store once because I guy walked in front of me. I was 8 months pg, it was July and I just really laid into him.

I wanted oranges, strawberries, chocolate and tacos with dd.
With ds I wanted caramel and gyros. Figure that one out

And that glow we get... thats really the sweat dripping off our foreheads and we struggle to control ourselves

yup, I forgot, I also wanted melted cheese with jelly or chocolate.
soooo strange.
I mean it wasn't a want, it was a must.

I couldn't survive without whatever my crave was.

Oh, those are just the cute things....

I was waiting for all the crazy cravings, but only craved apples, rice and lentils, for whatever weird reason.

Or people telling me the 9th mo is the most difficult one when I actually finally had so much energy, also a surprise.

Re: The Pregnant monster

Think I better have another one because I missed out on all of this . Didn't have any cravings wotsoever. My only problem was horrendous heartburn towards the end and had to sleep sitting up for the last 2 months.

But then again I did spend most of my pregnancy on my own so I don't really know if I was a mood swing monster or not!

Re: The Pregnant monster

i felt pretty fine my whole pregnancy, no moodiness, no nastiness- luckily i felt very healthy and energetic.

but, i realized i couldn't realize think- i couldn't really hold a conversation- my mind just constantly wondered, unless people were talking about baby things and then i could focus for a bit...

and all i wanted was fish, watermelon and hothothot chillies, all the time.

strangely enough, my son's favorite food is still to this day watermelon and fish, and hot, spicy things...

Ha ha.......just remembered that. Putting my washing down the loo instead of the washing machine! They do say having a baby kills off brain cells, and of course being blonde and an Essex girl I had absolutely no chance

They call it the pregnancy brain.

I think I never completely got over it and it will certainly not get better.

PUKING is a good sign??
Have you ever vomited until there was nothing left everyday, sometimes 3 times a day, for months on end???

I guess not, puking is a good sign I was hospitalized, because of my good sign of puking.
