and now the Dengue fever has arrived in France ..what next.. here in Swizterland, my kids , husband and I dont'get the shot vs any kind of flu... and as for as stuff made in Chian is concerned..I paid more to make sure that all the basic inoculations needed for my baby who was born there were imported...
Re: Swine Flu Shot Mixed with New Seasonal Flu Vaccine
Now the UK will explicitly use the old vaccine
"GPs have begun giving patients doses of last year's swine flu vaccine to try to overcome the shortage of seasonal flu vaccines, as the death count from this winter's outbreak rises to 50 people
"I'm writing to GPs to tell them that they can start using H1N1 vaccine on clinical need," said Dame Sally Davies, the interim chief medical officer for England."
Re: Swine Flu Shot Mixed with New Seasonal Flu Vaccine
Oh crap, here we go again......
Back in March of last year, it was decided to include the Swine flu strain in this year's seasonal flu vaccine, it's not news, it's not a secret.
It isn't "mixed", it's included in the formulation from the start. Also, there are several companies who manufacture flu vaccine, it's not all "made in China" (which is a problem why exactly, anyway?) and not all contain Mercury, of which the link to autism has not been demonstrated in any scientific study to date.
Sod off back to your mates Andrew Wakefield and Jenny McCarthy

I think you misunderstood.
Today's UK decision is to start using last years vaccine shots which are still on the shelf.
They do not have enough of this years vaccine (which includes the Swine flu strain) left to vaccinate the envisaged demand.
Myself I always thought these vaccines have a shelf life of about 1 year which is why I do not fancy last years shots- nothing to do with Mercury or China.

I was actually referring to the original poster. Your concerns over shelf-life are entirely reasonable, but do bear in mind, shelf-lives are extremely conservative and the vaccine should still retain its efficacy if stored responsibly.

and why did the Chief of the WHO not take the shot? Hmmmmmmm?
"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free". - Goethe
perhaps the Chief of WHO decided that he did not need the vaccine as he has no underlying medical problems that would necessitate having one and has therefore enabled 1 more needy person to have the vaccine......

The first study to link a childhood vaccine to autism was based on doctored information about the children involved, according to a new report.
The 1998 paper by Dr. Andrew Wakefield and colleagues was renounced by 10 of its 13 authors and later retracted by the medical journal Lancet, where it was published. Still, the suggestion that the MMR vaccination shot was connected to autism spooked parents worldwide and immunization rates for measles, mumps and rubella have never fully recovered. A new report says Dr. Andrew Wakefield and his colleagues altered facts about patients in their study linking autism to the MMR vaccine.(Charles Rex Arbogast/Associated Press) A new examination has found, by comparing the reported diagnoses in the paper to hospital records, that Wakefield and colleagues altered facts about patients in their study.
The analysis, by British journalist Brian Deer, found that despite the claim in Wakefield's paper that the 12 children studied were normal until they had the MMR shot, five had previously documented developmental problems.
Deer also found that all the cases were variously misrepresented when he compared data from medical records and the children's parents. P.O.V.:
Does this new investigation change your view on autism and concerns about a link to the MMR vaccine? Take our survey.
Wakefield could not be reached for comment despite repeated calls and requests to the publisher of his recent book, which claims there is indeed a connection between vaccines and autism that has been ignored by the medical establishment. Wakefield now lives in the U.S., where he enjoys a vocal following that includes celebrity supporters like Jenny McCarthy.
Deer's article was paid for by the Sunday Times of London and Britain's Channel 4 television network. It was published online Thursday in the medical journal, BMJ.
In an accompanying editorial, BMJ editor Fiona Godlee and colleagues called Wakefield's study "an elaborate fraud." They said Wakefield's work in other journals should be examined to see if it should be retracted.
Last May, Wakefield was stripped of his right to practise medicine in Britain. Many other published studies have shown no connection between the MMR vaccination and autism.
But measles has surged since Wakefield's paper was published and there are sporadic outbreaks in Europe and the U.S. In 2008, measles was deemed endemic in England and Wales.

It is about one year. Two years ago batches of old flu vaccine - i.e out of shelf-life - had their potency retested. The restesting ensures that the active ingredients are still active on a statistically significant sample. If these vaccines are over one year old, their potency will be reassayed in the same way.
