My little daughter was shouting repeatedely "Ana! Ana!" yesterday. As we know no Ana, I was quite puzzled by this.

fortunately my son had a ready explanation: "It's probably the name she chose for our next baby."

Which next baby???
Jeez, those !s look like ls

My oldest turns to his wee brother & calls him a baby; the reply from my 6 year old: "I'm not a fu**ing baby!"
Sweary kids are the funniest thing, but it's murder trying to keep a straight face when they do it.

Like when mini-mimi came out with the classic "mummy, where's the effing cat?"

Re: Cute things kids say

We went to a baptism on Saturday, and we had a wonderful lunch before hand. When the cakes came out (sorbet cakes... yum) Min asked what they said.
me: 'babyname' 'baptism'. because it's her baptism day, that's why we are here
Min: What's a baptism?
Me: It's when a baby in introduced to family and friends and to God and everyone knows that they belong.
Min: Who's god?
Me: (Squirming like only an atheist in a room full of Catholics can) Some people think God made everything, the earth, trees, animals, people.....
Min: (looking around) where is he?
Me: Well, you can't see him, he's magic.

Followed by lots of explanations about church, her naming day, importance of belonging to a group of people etc etc.

........ Later outside the church waiting.
.......Priest comes out

Min: (pointing) Is that God?

"Mom, can you cook that nice thing I had for lunch at parascolaire?"

"Sure. What was it?"

"I don't know".

Awesome. Now what...
Made me realized we tortured my poor mom, when we wanted her to make the food equally bad as in school cafet, and she had no idea what we ate and how it was cooked.

Re: Cute things kids say

From deep thinking 6yo.

Daddy you should not drink beer, it has germs.
Why does beer have germs?
Well the man who makes it puts them in it when he tests it.
Are you sure?
Well not all beer, your beer is ok but the beer you drink with Marcus (best mate) is not good.
Hmmm
Yes you always wake up sick from Marcus's beer, it is because of the germs.

Now I know where hangovers come from, it is the germs!!!

I had that today.

"Look, mama, Mr. Cross is on the top of that castle!"
"It's Christ on the Cross, honey. And the castle is a church."
"Who is that? He is the one whobelievesingod?"
"Yes, he is one of them too."
"Like grampa?"
"No, grampa does not. A lot of people don't, I don't."
"But I saw Mr. Cross in his study!?"
"That's because he respects people whobelievesingod."
"Can I be also whobelievesingod?"
"Sure, it's better, though, if you grow up a little bit first, to know what it means.."

Ugh. It's hard to explain..And I am not sure if she got the concept of whobelievesingod as she calls it, right. We will see.

Re: Cute things kids say

I'm sat on the balcony escaping the kids cartoons and checking out EF. Mini-mimi comes to the balcony door...

Mini-mimi: "mummy, I need a cuddle and a kiss"
Me: "ok sweetheart, hang on a second whilst I finish this reply"
Mini-mimi: "ok mummy" *goes back to watching tv*
.......five mins later (got engrossed in my reply)
Mini-mimi: "mummy I can't wait that long"
Me: *awwwwww....feeling guilty*

What are you doing daddy?
Shaving.
Why?
There is too much hair on my face so I shave it off.
"You need to shave your nose too, it has a lot of hair!!"
Mmmm thanks son.

I told my 6 year old to go to bed, his reply was "To do what? Lie down & do nothing! That's boring". He has an answer for everything.

On being asked "why are you putting grapes in your cheeks?", my daughter replied 'so I can have chubby cheeks like you mummy"

The only positive to this is, that according to her, her daddy has a big tummy

Since his little sister was born (and breastfed) my son calls my breasts "the stock of milk".

My teenage son was extremely embarrassed last summer when we went to the pool and he told me everybody was looking at my breasts ...LOL ... and he was generally ashamed of us and sat in a different corner.

Re: Cute things kids say

Migros car park: Guy with one leg walks past on crutches.

5 year old: "Mom, that man has crutches".
Mom: "Why yes he does".
5yo: "He's only got one leg"
M: "Yes, that's right"
5yo: "Why's he only got one leg?"

In the meantime, the dude has stopped walking and is now awkwardly listening into the progression of the conversation.

M: "I don't know why, some people are born that way"
5yo: "How does he play football .....?"

Exit .....
