Re: Cute things kids say

We're heading off on holiday tomorrow so I gave mini-mimi the option of taking one of her three sleeping companions with us. She chose the infamous Miaow-Miaow.

I put her to bed, turned the night camera on and I've been watching her ever since, telling her stuffed cat all about the adventures they will have on holiday and how she will meet her mysterious boyfriend James ( who she has been wittering on about for months - and I have no idea who he is).

Apparently, he is waiting on the beach for her and they love each other sooooooooo much

Re: Cute things kids say

We were walking around today with the kids (well, my 2.5 years old boy was running around) when he saw an old man and ran to him to hug his legs.

The poor man had his heart melting all over the place. It made his and his wife's day.

That was really cute.

Re: Cute things kids say

Not sure it's so cute. My five year old girl asked me today..

Daddy, are you going to be dead at Christmas? (Quite creepy)

Me. Er, not if I can help it sweetheart..got something on your mind?

Not much daddy - but mummy uses lots of face cream to stay young, and you don't use any.

Me. Ok, love. I see where you're going.. Relax, I'll be around for a few years..

Soooo. I have to wait till christmas for my presents..?

Re: Cute things kids say

We were visiting Gilroy Gardens (or was it Happy Hollow?) near San Jose, CA a couple of years ago. As we stood in line to get our kids on the animal carrousel, we heard other kids in the line:
-I want to ride on the tiger!
-I want to ride on the giraffe!
-I want to ride on the elephant!
-I want to ride on the dolphin!
My 3 year-old saw the lemur and declared loud and clear:
-I want to ride on the skunk!

Re: Cute things kids say

Since my children were born, I systematically tell them "sleep well, I love you" while closing the bedroom door for the night.

For the past few nights, my 2 yo has started answering with her very own "eeep well, I wove you"...

My heart melts

Re: Cute things kids say

Yesterday on his way to the kindergrippe my 2.5 year old does his best to imitate a Sat Nav.

"Drive to zoo please, I want to see the monkies"

"But we're going to the grippe where you'll play with Daniel, Sarah, Parisa and...."

"No, Zoo"!

Re: Cute things kids say

Yesterday, I spent the whole day running around to get everything ready for the birthday party of my 5 years old daughter.

When she saw the decorations and later the cake, she came to me and told me how happy she was and thanked me many times for it with lots of kisses.

Her happiness and thankfulness made all the work and stress worth it.

Re: Cute things kids say

At an open/family/visitor day at (what turned out to be) something like a further education/training company for engineers. We are just sitting down to brotwurst (Min) and crisps (me) and one of the people comes up and the following happens (in german).
Man to Min. Do you like crisps?
Min. Yes
Man. Would you like to test (taste.... Try..... ) some different ones?
(Min looks at me, I nod assent, she starts to follow man and gabs my hand.
Man goes behind a barrier and comes back with family sized crisp bags and I'm expecting him to pour some out but he starts giving them to her.)
Man. Here, you can test these at home, these are for you, these are for your mummy and daddy because they are a little spicy, these are for you, and these.
(Min takes the crisps and starts to walk off without thanking him)
Me. What do you say?
M. I don't have a daddy at home.

Re: Cute things kids say

On the way from conservatoire today..

"You will play better than me one day, I think" I told my girl in order to peptalk her a little bit, knowing the beginnings are awkward.

"Yeah, I know. Because I am young. You are young, too, but a little bit old".

It's funny when kids try to be honest and polite.

Re: Cute things kids say

I tell my daughter to put on her rain coat and rain boots as the weather is a bit uncertain.

"Oh mommy! The sun cries!"

So much more poetic than rain...
