My sister is soon going to marry and told my her / my 4 years old niece about it.
Sister: So As I'm going to marry soon, it is common to take the husbands name.
Nice: So are you also called Peter then? | The following 3 users would like to thank NewSuisse for this useful post:

Another teenager one.
Son's German teacher was off for a couple of days last week as she was getting married.
Son came home from school yesterday and said ' I saw Frau X today and she didn't look any different'.
Not sure what he thought getting married was going to do to her. | The following 3 users would like to thank Belgianmum for this useful post:

My friend's little one calls me "aunt"...she got so used with me she thinks I'm part of the family.
And I'm in the process of learning a new language...with the best teacher ever.

Last week, walking through Zurich HB at around 13:00, full of people going to street parade.
'I'm too young and you are too old to be here'
Also, when going to the doctor with a head injury and doctor wanting to refer me for a CT asked 'is it possible you are pregant?' My daughter replied before I had a chance 'she doesn't even have a boyfriend'

Kids want to earn money so they came up with the idea of a spa (name and all) where they invite us every Sunday.
"Would you like to come to Happy Pappy (Spa and Boutique)?"
"I can't, I have such a terrible migraine."
"Then you can come to the Happy Pappy hospital."
...
"You can't come out of your room, the floors are wet."
"But we are working." | This user would like to thank FunnyBone for this useful post:

What does "classic" mean? Explanation...a bit of time...then:
" Classic rhymes with Jurassic." Thank you, Dino train and Magic School Bus.
Maybe they'll join a poetry slam or write books one day , or help set a higher vocab standard for the hip hop and pop lyrics of their times. | This user would like to thank FunnyBone for this useful post:

Having been in Munich last week (and leaving before Oktoberfest started... Very sad) I has bought Dirndls for us both. She is luke warm to mine, she liked the green dress but not the cream apron. Then I get us drinks and she looks at me and says "that looks much better when you are holding a beer" raising my daughter right!

My four-year old:
"Daddy can you print out some car pictures for me to colour in?"
"Sure, what do you want? Fast rally cars or a racing car perhaps?"
"No, A Gumpert Apollo and a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento".

"Mom, girls at school said it is sad I don't believe in God".
"You know, you can if you want to.."
"I don't. Why do they say it is sad?"
"Well, maybe they think life would be easier. Sometimes I think it would be easier."
"You don't need God, mom. You have me."

Watching some fishermen by the lake:
Mommy, can we try fishing too?
And what will you do if you catch a fish?
Euhhhh... Take it to the Coop?
