Re: Cute things kids say

Looking through our son's schoolwork yesterday and a couple of things made us laugh.

An English test on the use of adjectives and opposites led to these two gems:

Interesting vs boring

Watching paint dry is interesting compared to learning about Swiss politics which is boring.

This earned him a bonus point from his teacher who appreciated the humour.

New vs old

Our car is new but my dad is old.

Made me laugh out loud but hubby was less amused.

Re: Cute things kids say

My kid was looking at some notes I put down to the lit reviews I am processing..

"Why is your handwriting so bad when you are not a doctor?"

"Well, it is not only doctors who write incomprehensibly, I put the comments down super fast. But it is true, I should write neatly." I was smiling.

"Yeah. But you know, doctors don't say bad words, either, when they speak."

Lol.

The awesome age of black and white morals.

Our six year old started primary school this year and he's learning to read German phonetically. Sometimes he writes too but it doesn't work when he tries in English:

A Youtube search of his: Schondschib

When you eventually get it, you may feel a bit sheepish.

His other one took me some time: Sdaros.

Re: Cute things kids say

Just arrived home after a shopping trip and met an 8-year old neighbour at the entrance to the building. She is a friend of mine, so we chatted away for a few minutes. Then this happened (in French):

Me: (Mistakenly uses "une" instead of "un" with reference to a common noun.)
Her, emphatically: It's UN, not UNE.
Me: Sorry for the mistake, I'm a bit stupid.
Her (trying to be polite, after an awkward pause): Well, maybe you're not stupid... but you do speak English.

If you spent one afternoon with my kids, you'd become an expert in no time. So, when are you babysitting?

Re: Cute things kids say

Kids will come up with their own name-calling if they aren't exposed to any. Can you tell they never heard of butthead or di&*head? I'm guessing this fascination is just beginning...

Examples: anus head, testicle headio (like in cheerio), penis head.

Re: Cute things kids say

Every night at bed time, it goes like this:

Me- I love you!
Kids- I love you more!
Me- I love you most!

And me? Ask hubby last night.
We love you too Baba!
What about the most part? Said hubby

No, we love you but love mama most!!

good kids.
