Re: Cute things kids say

Got my sister and her OH to come over and look after the kids. My youngest was so impatient to show his brand new bike to his uncle. He looked at me and said "Can you just leave, please? (My sister) told me we can only go out cycling after you've left for the station."

And there I was thinking that he would miss me horribly!!

My super gentle, beautiful, and friendly child comes up with a name for a cute toy: Toxic Croak.

I had to laugh the other day at friends, when our youngest said "Why the f*** can't I have a gin and tonic?"

Our kids should be tied together.. thankfully no swearing, but after having an argument with her brother yesterday, she got on her Dad's iPad, when he wasn't looking, and sent her brother a message:

"Smelly boy, why don't you have a bath? Heard you have smelly problems at school. Bye bye Farty fart."

So grounded! Bad idea she reads Horrid Henry and Diary of a Wimpy kid

Trouble is, useless parent that I am, I laughed when I read it, tried hard not too, just couldn't keep it in..

Re: Cute things kids say

This evening:

Daughter: "It's definite that it's not definite, but it might be definite.." - wanders out of the room.

Dad: "Huh?" Looks at me, confused & frowning "Is she talking about Brexit?"

Me: "No - she's talking about her playdate on Saturday"

Pretty clear to me, she didn't learn to talk like that from her father.

Agreed. I blame Theresa May. No more PMQs for that little lady.

Re: Cute things kids say

Daughter: can I go down stairs for 5 minutes before bed
Me: yes, but when I call you, it's bedtime, no question
Daughter: (silence)
Me: Understood?
Daughter: .. yes, but what if I have an important question to ask.

Re: Cute things kids say

Allowed the kids to open the first chocolate sweet box for Christmas. After eating a few chocs each, they had to choose their last sweet before I put the box away.

My daughter asked for the one in the red wrapper.
A strawberry flavoured one, I asked..
Yes, came the reply, the Calpol flavoured one

Calpol is UK liquid paracetamol for kids

Re: Cute things kids say

My daughter has begun to take a big interest in german words/names etc.. when we went out for a walk on one of our first evenings over Christmas:

"Oh look!", she announced, "the same person lives in a few houses on this street."

She spotted "Keine Werbung" on people's post boxes, lol

First thing I heard this morning:

"Happy New Year, Mum! I've decided I am going to be good all year."

Yeah, right!..

Re: Cute things kids say

There are 1206 pupils in a school. Why are they talking of eyes in this problem? And look, in this problem the number is odd, so one of them has one eye.

"Mom, you look like a pope today."
"Ah, that's just the style these days - these oversize formal shirts".
"You still look like a pope. Just without the hat".

Well, as long as it is just that.

My son wet the bed for the first time in ages, no biggie but asked him why.

"My penis woke up before me and he wanted to go to the toilet without waking me"

Re: Cute things kids say

Came back home after a long day at home. I took off my jacket, and my toddler promptly exclaimed "oh mommy, cute!"

Lovely boy...

... until supper time, when he lovingly said "oh cute" to his broccoli...
