"Here, Mom, here is another pock" still makes me smile.

However, not sure why yoghurt is still such an enemy at home. Why do some children dislike youghurts..I can't remember ever hating on it.

Yoghurts are a staple in our fridge. Chicken yoghurts, less so.

Has to be the normal consistency ones, though. Not a fan of the set ones.

I think it is the texture, yeah. And the idea of dairy "going off".

Fun "guide" to dairy:

If milk goes off, it becomes yoghurt.

If yoghurt goes off, it becomes cheese.

If cheese goes off, it becomes blue cheese.

Blue cheese never goes off.

"From now on - you have your daughter's name and your daughter has your name. Ok?"

I love how small kids work with identities (she's 5 and she was so gleeful when she figured her little game, so far she keeps it up pretty consistently).

At playgroup today.

Child touching the large freckles on my hand,
"why are you so old"?

Me thinking, "because I haven't died yet"!

Me saying "because I've lived a long time".

Sonia has no particular reputation at present
Re: Cute things kids say

My twins (5) were taking part in the school nativity show. It was supposed to be a 'secret' for the parents, but of course we knew.

One day, trying to distract them during a tantrum/fight, I asked, 'Sooo, who is playing baby Jesus in the school play?'.

Both of them stopped in their tracks, looked at me suspiciously and asked me with dismay on their faces: Who told you there is a baby in the show??? How do you know the baby's name is Jesus? WHO TOLD YOU??

I told them I know everything. I maintained that status for a very long time (until very recently)

First after school meltdown.

How does one wrap school books without tape, nor self-adhesive (transparent) plastic foil? Where can I buy magic wrapping paper?

Thanks.

I'm not allowed to wrap the text books. Apparently I would do it wrong and I have to do it the "Special Swiss way".

There is a way to folding paper to cover books without using tape, I used to be able to do it but I don’t have to cover books anymore so I can’t remember how I did it.

We just went ahead and used tape, being careful not to tape it to the book itself. At parents evening I just shrugged apologetically and said "Ooh, we're still learning..." and complimented on how tidy her classroom was. She didn't mention it after that.

Well done! That should go into a thread called "Clever things parents say to teachers".
