English-speaking podiatrist needed

Does anyone know a good podiatrist in Basel who also speaks English (or Italian )?

I have a recurring problem in my left foot -- mostly due to lot's of running -- and I'd like to get it looked at.

Thanks! --m

Cara & Martino,

Did you find any good podiatrist in the Basel area?
I'd need one and be glad if you, or anyone else on the forum, could recommend one.

Thanks!

Re: English-speaking podiatrist needed

Hello,
Things are different here than what I'm accustomed to in the US. I lost a toe-nail (but didn't know what was happening at the beginning of the process) and searched for a podiatrist. A local orthopedic shoe shop owner referred me to the podology place at the Dr Scholls store on Schneidergasse. I gladly made the appointment, but then was upset when I realized the person wasn't a doctor! What could a pedicurist do for me?!?!?!
I went to my normal doctor. He correctly diagnosed the problem but gave very bad advice for how to cope with the transition. Needless to say, I eventually ended up back at the podology clinic. Today I have my second appointment.
I see Frau Wanner to deal with the resulting problems with the new nail. I'm almost back to normal.
I suggest you talk to a pharmacist to find out whether you should see a GP or a podology clinic.

Thanks for the info. Think you're right - The pharmacy probably knows where to go.
Hope your visit today went well!
