Re: Heart murmur in children

We spoke to our pediatrician about what happened at our appointment with the doctor at the hospital. I was very pleased to have his support and he told us he will fill a report to the hospital about the doctor and he suggested we do the same as well. He will try to organise an other appointment for us for when we will be back from vacation with of course an other doctor.

We are lucky to have a great doctor who takes good care of our daughter! Especially to be able to support his patient and take measure when necessary even if it goes against a collegue.

I assume all went well then? I am in a similar situation now - panicking and waiting for the next checkup for my baby!

Re: Heart murmur in children

Nina don't worry, it will be ok.
If your baby were very ill they would have kept him/her in hospital (believe me, I've been there)

If it's not too indiscreet, what CHD (congenital heart defect) does your baby have ?

They do grow up to be nice young adults, and even with open heart surgery (my child's case) they live normal lives.

kind regards

Re: Heart murmur in children

To all who are seeking information regarding cardiology issues in children

This on-line support and information for children (and adults) with congenital heart defects has been available since 1995.

It saw me through my darkest hours and I will always be grateful for the special people from all over the world who reached out to touch, stopped to listen and really shared what we were going through, what they were going through.
We helped each other out.

It's not the easiest of websites because there are sad parts of it and there's a lot of information.

You won't need it for light resolvable health issues, but if ever there was a more serious one, it would help you.

May there be angels always along your path

What the pediatrician told me was that she can hear a murmur. That is all that I know.

Re: Heart murmur in children

My daughter had nothing. They made all the tests and couldn't find anything. All the stress for nothing, Thank goodness!

Re: Heart murmur in children

Many murmurs disappear as the children grow.
