As of 1st of January 2011 new VAT rates will become effective:

Normal rate old = 7.6% / new = 8.0%
Special rate old = 3.6% / new = 3.8%
Reduced rate old = 2.4% / new = 2.5%

As an FYI. I didn't know but perhaps i missed a thread on this. Relatively minor but an increase nonetheless.

Thanks for the notice. Seeing as Portugal is facing the possibilty of a 23% rate of VAT next year, and Ireland a couple of years later, I won't complain too loudly about this one.

And UK VAT increases to 20%

And it is 25% in Denmark and has been for a looooong time....
