| | Investing in silver in Switzerland
There's already a tread here investing in gold. I've also read a lot of info about investing in gold and silver in America. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction for investing in silver here in Switzerland. Kind of a how to. Thanks!

I have been looking to buy and sell silver via web but only to find this one http://www.bullionvault.com/Buy_Gold...onCurrency=EUR
They physically posses the metal and you can pick up your bar in London or have it delivered. Anyone knows a similar conditions web or bank that provides the same service in Switzerland?

You can buy physical Silver (Barr's) in most big banks in Switzerland (UBS, ZKB)
UBS AG
Gold & Numismatik
8001 Zürich
Phone 044 234 45 00
Its on Bahnhofstrasse in Zürich
Remember that when buying physical you dont pay the middle price and when buying allot it could mean paying allot extra.
consider buying Silver ETF which is also available in most banks
good luck

Bit late to invest in silver. I would stick to gold, if any precious metal. But oil is a much better bet over the long-term. In the short or medium term, property in Zurich would also most likely give you a higher and less volatile investment return.
Work out your investment goals, and read the FT to get some background on the drivers of supply/demand re silver, and the inherent volatility before investing a large amount of money. An average person would not have sufficient cash or portfolio diversity to seriously consider an investment in one single precious metal.
My basic philosophy is to cut out the middle man, so do all your own research, and be prepared to be surprised/disappointed when investing speculatively.
All that glitters...

PLEASE stop messing with the sliver! If you don't I can't make jewelry because it will be too expensive and no one will buy it and then I will starve. Sheesh. Think of the starving artists.
Oh. The days of 4.00 and oz.... (sigh). I used to buy silver charms as a kid. They were cheaper than candy. Where did I put those damn things!? |

When buying physical Silver as an investment, remember that you automatically loose something round 7% on your investment and that is besides the spread dif. since you have to pay mwst, on it. The best is def. only buying as an etf.
And if you are looking to get in, now is def the time, had some big pull backs last week and can for sure go down further but my personal opinion which dosent mean much things it would be a great buy for a long term investment.

Silver has to be the worst investment in the world. Its description as a precious metal is totally unjustified, its use in the photographic industry has become shall we say 2nd division and its poor relation status to gold is worth little in investment status.

Silver has been a great trading vehicle...
If you are talking about 'investment' you should probably run as fast as you can from it...
