I got a presentation from a swiss banker before, I think you can open an account with less than 10,000 pounds.. but of course, it depends on which bank that you want to open the account with.

I know it's going to be quite complicated though as they want to know every single detail on where the money came from, making sure it's not in any kind of money laundering, so you need to prepare lots of documents about your estate and financial source.. and if you're a US citizen it's even much harder thanks to the BCV incident, most of the swiss bank now avoid having US customers.

If I'm not mistaken.. the speaker came from a private bank in Lausanne, I don't remember the name though

If you are not a Swiss resident, I think you will find it very unlikely that you can open a bank account here without less than CHF500,000...

Sorry if it's already been posted, I tried the search.

Would like to open a Swiss account, mostly for trading stocks & storing some metals. Prefrably in Geneva but no essential.

I don't have much in assets at present but trying to plan ahead for the future.

My question is, can I open an account with a small deposit (10,000) or less?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.
A relative of mine (resident in an EU state) just tried that and: nope. None of the banks he asked would open an account for him.
