Re: transfer of 3rd pillar from insurance company to bank

is it a 3rd pillar in form of "account" (axa bank) or "life insurance" (axa life)?
If account there should be no fees.
If life insurance, the transferred amount can be less than what you contributed in total.

Re: transfer of 3rd pillar from insurance company to bank

I'd like to know your experiences transferring your 3rd pillar savings to a different bank. Is it possible at all?

I'm about to open an account and wouldn't like to be locked in with a bank. How do you request the transfer? Is there any penalty?

If you are simply moving the account balance (cash or funds) from one bank to another its not an issue at all. I think the bank will typically require you to move the entire balance though (you cant move just a piece of it). There should be no costs involved (I moved from UBS to ZKB many years ago).

Re: transfer of 3rd pillar from insurance company to bank

Hi, I would like to transfer my P3a (3rd Pillar Pension) account from UBS to my P3a account with Post-Finance, as I have already transferred my Salary account due to the high fees at UBS. Can anyone confirm that it is possible to consolidate P3A accounts like this?

Of course you can, but it may not be what you want. Come payout time you can only have the full amount paid out. From a tax optimization point of view you want to spread it out over mulitple years, so you want multiple accounts.
