A bit of advice

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, this is my first post.

I wondered if anyone could help with a tax question?

My Swiss wife, son & myself (English) are all moving to Switzerland soon. I am going to continue working in the UK as I own a company in London, I will (I know it sounds stupid) commute to & from Zurich leaving on Monday, returning on Thursday. My wife & son will stay in Switzerland.

I have to "register" I am told by my wife & tax advisor in Switzerland as I need a bank account, a phone, a car etc etc. But, I need to continue paying tax on my UK earnings as I need to be in the UK more than 90 days a year, which is fine. I intend to pay tax in Switzerland on any Swiss earnings & I have set up an AG company there.

If I am "registered" in Switzerland does it mean that I cannot still pay tax on earnings in the UK as I am a Swiss resident? I am concerned that I will not be able to go to the UK more than 90 days a year.

Sorry if it is a bit of a ramble, but any help would be appreciated.

Danke!

Hello Andrewww and welcome to the Forum.

Firstly, I've highlighted your first spelling mistake, you are missing an A.

Considering your position, I'd invest some time and consult a tax expert in advance on how to optimize your tax return and maybe even how to structure your company ownership.

You may want to check out the taxation thread (205):

or here

Wishing you all the best for the move.
Cheers
