Zurich Tax form error

Hi,

I work for several companies and used their end of year salary froms to fill in my tax return, which I sent off in February.

Today I get a new one showing approx 4000 chf more earnings, the company wrote to me saying they were sorry for the error. They suggested either contacting my tax office or throwing away the new form!

Any idears what I should do, my German is poor.

Many thanks

Re: Zurich Tax form error

Just a thought, but you could try contacting the tax office or throwing out the new form.

Seriously, it's easy. Have someone translate a short explanation for you, put it in a letter with the new salary form, and send it to the tax office. Ideally, you should redo your taxes with the new amount and submit that as well. Done.

Re: Zurich Tax form error

My accountant neglected to declare property I owned in the UK in my first year in CH. He just wrote to the local tax people, and they issued an adjustment. No fine, no penalty, no problem. A tiny bit of interest.
