Hi everybody,

I was here on an 'L' permit until the end of January 2011. My contract ended so I packed all my stuff up and went back to England.

Month later I've been given a new contract with a different company so I've come back to Zürich (been working here 2 weeks now).

My question is, will I have a problem with customs if I decide to bring my stuff back? I'm planning on driving it over in a couple of weeks.

I know that when you first come to Switzerland you are supposed to declare everything you will be bringing over, even if you don't actually do so for 18 months, but there seems to be precious little information about temporary moves (such as mine).

When we came back again customs wanted us to account for the weight difference in the van from what it was when we left Switzerland to what it was when we came back. Apart from that there was really no problem at all.
