CS saving account with 2,25% interest?

Just saw this ad today

https://www.credit-suisse.com/forms/...ssparkonto.jsp

seems like a good deal for an interest of 2,25% till 31.12.11. Better than the Postfinance E-Deposito of 1%. Just thought to share it here. Any comment?

Re: CS saving account with 2,25% interest?

2.25 is for one year, till end of the year, but the promotion starts from April.

Meaning effectively you do not get 2.25%, but 1 point something.

Plus it's only for new clients.

good advertising but as pointed out by others it's not so attractive.
Maybe have a look at stocks from companies paying good dividends.

Re: CS saving account with 2,25% interest?

The 2.25% saving account is available to present customers. However it is not available to the money you have already...only 'new money'...

So if you have money coming in and already on an account you can put it straight into the 2.25% saving account. Also you can only withdraw up to 50K CHF before the end of the offer (dec 2011.?)

The interest is proportionally the same as the 3rd pillar from CS. The standard saving interest is something like 0.3**%..

(I popped into CS to ask about it)

Basically in CH if you have money left over after you have maxed up your 3rd Pillar yearly allowance and you don't want to put it in your 2nd pillar then there are only two options....Saving account where you are still taxed..or invest it.

Well there is a third.....but shhhhhh

Re: CS saving account with 2,25% interest?

Anyone has so far tried to open the account?

I am just wondering if we take out any money before 31.12 (within the 50k limit), would interest be paid on these money? If yes, I reckon the best strategy would be to put up to 100k within the offer period, withdraw some before 31.12 so that the balance of 50k can be withdrawed at 01.01.12...?

Any opinion?
